COMPETITION: Win Mask ‘n’ Ask by Drumond Park

We are fans of Drumond Park games, we have previously reviewed Spin ManiaBox of Shocks,PumpazingLOGO What am I?  and Bubble Buster Kazoo Game. All of them were very enjoyable to play and a success in our household!

Mask ‘n’ Ask from Drumond Park (RRP £16.99) is a new board game which up to four people aged around 7+ can play together.  There are thirty top quality masks with colourful animal faces on one side, and jokey-looking human characters on the other, there are a total of sixty different masks to choose from.

Mask ‘n’ Ask is an innovative and unique board game, is quite easy to play and little man, 4, had a lot of fun playing with it. On the animal side, kids might find a Frog, Giraffe or Lion, for instance.  And on the human side, the mask may represent a Fireman, Nurse or Policeman. We decided to play as animals, so we attached a mask to our glasses.

Each player chooses a pair of red, yellow, green or blue glasses, takes a mask without looking at the picture on the other side, and clips it onto their glasses. Each player has a turn spinning the spinner – then asks the others the question printed on the board, on which their playing piece has landed.  For human characters, this might be “Do I have glasses?”, and for animals it could be “Do I live in the wild in Britain?” and so on.

When a player correctly guesses their identity, they choose a new mask from the pile – and the first person to guess three masks is the winner! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed playing with Mask ‘n’ Ask, little man loved pretending to be an animal and different characters, while I really like the fact you can have two boards games in one, the board and the cards are double sided.

My only comment would be that the glasses are a bit big for little man, but then again the game is recommended for children aged 7+, and we were playing on the floor, so we had to be turning our heads all the time to look down at the board. I believe it would be resolved if you played it on the table instead. Apart from that, we had a great time playing with Mask ‘n’ Ask, it is a fun and entertaining board game suitable for the whole family! For stockists, please visit www.drumondpark.com.
