COMPETITION: Win 1 of 10 Signed Tutti Frutti Recipe Book by Bompas and Parr

A few months ago, I was invited to Bompas & Parr studios to find out more about sensitive teeth and the world’s most sensitising ice cream. British architectural foodsmiths Bompas & Parr created their most daring dessert yet as part of a collaboration with Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief.

Cool as a Cucumber Sorbet

The partnership was formed after Colgate discovered that over 47% of the UK sufferers from sensitive teeth. Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief works on tooth sensitivity by sealing the channels to the nerve centre, making it the most effective toothpaste in the market.

Bompas & Parr were challenged to put Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief toothpaste to the ultimate tested with some deliciously sensitising recipes, such as Cool as a Cucumber Sorbet.

Bompas & Parr say: “Here, we’ve given a cooling cucumber sorbet a tart makeover with the addition of citric acid from fresh lemons. An additional chilling effect comes from fresh frozen mint leaves, whose flavour has been enhanced with a touch of salt. It’s delicious!”

Sour Meringue and Strawberry Fool

Another interestingly sensitising recipe is ‘Sour Meringue and Strawberry Fool’. Bompas & Parr say: “For some, the very thought of oh-so-sweet meringue against their teeth is enough to send them packing. We’ve also added malic acid – the acid typically found in sharp, green apples – to this recipe, and upped the acid content in the strawberry fool recipe by adding red wine vinegar – it’s yum!
