As an international family, there is nothing that we love more than travelling and exploring different places. We really treasure each opportunity that we have to spend time together and build precious memories.
Our dream family holiday destination needs to offer entertainment for the whole family: a fearless 7 year old boy, a sun seeker mum and an adventurous dad. Holidays are better when they are shared, so we would love our cousins to join us for another spectacular holiday.
We loved so much our holiday together in 2013 that we can’t wait to go to another one. The 3 boys get along really well and have so much fun together. As they are energetic, our dream holiday destination needs to have plenty of entertainment and activities, which is exactly what you will find at the fantastic Sequoia Parc. The park is located on the coast of the French Region Charente Maritime by the world famous oyster port of Marennes.
The boys will be spoilt for choice. Little man will be 8 in a few weeks, so the holiday will be the perfect opportunity to celebrate his birthday. His 9 and 12 year old cousins will certainly love the family-friendly facilities, especially the children’s playgrounds, ibou club and water park.
Imagine waking up and jumping in the swimming pool, then making the most of a massive waterpark with waterfalls, Jacuzzis, slides, lazy river ride and fountains. What more could we ask for? I can see us all going down the slides several times, then recharging our batteries at the lazy river.
The sporty dads will have a blast playing tennis, table tennis, volleyball, football and basketball. I can see the boys joining them in the sport activities too!
The fun doesn’t stop once the sun goes down. There is also an open air entertainment with evening disco, playback show, cabaret shows and music evenings.
We all love dancing, so I can just imagine how much fun we will have singing and dancing during our holiday!
Food and Drink
All those activities, sports and entertainment will make us hungry and thirsty, so luckily there are a few options in the park. During the day, we could grab a refreshing drink from the aquabar or bar, then go to our Al Fresco mobile homes for a delicious barbeque. Did you know that you will even find a charcoal barbecue in your accommodation?
In the evening, we could go to the pizzeria one day, restaurant the next and so on. If you fancy anything, you go pop to the mini-market to stock up on goodies and snacks.
As foodies, one of our favourite activities while travelling is exploring the local cuisine. Luckily the parc is located within a few miles of the world famous oyster port of Marennes. We would definitely visit the sandy lagoon and enjoy fresh oysters, together with local fish and seafood. Mussel farming is also popular in the Marennes-Oleron area.
We would also love to visit the village of Saint-Just-Luzac within one mile from the parc. I’m sure the boys would exploring the toy museum.
Our next stop would be France’s largest zoo at La Palmyre, located 12 miles away from the parc. We would also make the most of the pleasant Marennes beach. There is so much to do and explore in the Marennes area, I am sure we would have a fun-filled holiday, creating priceless memories together that we would treasure forever!
