Review: Frankie and Benny’s New Menu
We visited Frankie & Benny’s in Ilford and had a lovely time at the New York Italian Restaurant and Bar! Frankie & Benny’s have a wide range of dishes and four great new menus: breakfast, lunch, specials and desserts.
Frankie & Benny’s have an extensive menu including Speciality Pizzas, BBQ Ribs, New York Chicken, Rib Eye Steak, Double Stack Burgers, Sticky Wings and other tasty dishes. There is also a Lighter Options menu with starters and main courses.
I chose Mozzarella and Tomato Salad as a starter, light creamy mozzarella with sliced beef tomato, marinated olives and warm garlic dough balls.
My salad was served with fresh rocket, olive oil and seasoned with cracked black pepper. It was a light and tasty salad for only £4.95.
Hubby chose Large Chicken Wings as a starter, which came with five large wings tossed in American BBQ sauce, served with crunchy celery and cooling dip.
Hubby said his chicken wings were too nice to share, but I had to try one so I could let you know if they were good. Yes, they were delicious and all for £5.95.
I was impressed with the kids menu which included a main course, dessert and refillable soft drink for only £3.95. You can also choose a Junior’s menu for £7.55 for younger diners with larger appetite.
Kid’s Meal also comes with an optional side of vegetables, side salad or baked beans and a fun activity pack with games and puzzles.
The activity pack was brilliant when little man was waiting for his food, it kept him entertained and seated at all times.
Little man picked his own meal, he had Fish Fingers served with fries and a tomato and cucumber garnish. When I was having my starters, he helped himself to some dough balls and mozzarella salad.
We both love steaks, so hubby and I tried different steak dishes. I chose Chargrilled 7oz Steak Salad from the Lighter Options menu.
I had my rump steak cooked medium and it was served with a fresh rocket, tomato, spinach and red onion salad, sprinkled with Grana Padano.
My Steak Salad came with cherry tomatoes on the vine and half a char-grilled lemon on the side.
I asked for peppercorn sauce and corn on the cob as a side dish. It was a perfect size for my appetite. I enjoyed a beautifully cooked steak with salad for only £10.95.
Hubby was quite hungry so he couldn’t resist to the Frankie & Benny’s Mixed Grill Platter. When the plate arrived, we couldn’t believe the size of it.
Mixed Grilled Platter was big enough to feed a small family, but hubby was happy to have on his own.
Frankie & Benny’s Mixed Grill Platter is a 23oz meat feast with 28 day aged house Sirloin steak, bacon steak, pork and herd sausage and a quarter cut chicken. It was served with roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine, flat mushroom, house fries, fresh rocket and Italian hard cheese garnish.
Hubby asked for peppercorn sauce on the side and he enjoyed every bite of his meat feast. It is a very generous dish for only £20.95. Perfect for those with bigger appetite!
We wanted to try Frankie & Benny’s famous desserts, but we were full. We will have to come back and try them another day.
Little man had a Brownie Sunday from the Kid’s Menu, warm brownie pieces and vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce and served with a wafer. I was told it was delicious and I tried a little spoon to make sure it was ok. It was lovely and sweet!
Overall, we had a lovely experience and thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Frankie & Benny’s.
We were given a £50 voucher towards our meal, however it did not influence our review. We highly recommend Frankie & Benny’s for a lovely family meal in a relaxed atmosphere with great service and delicious food at reasonable prices.
There is a Specials Menu available all day from Sunday to Friday, where you can enjoy two courses for only £10.95 or an extra course for an additional £2.25.
Besides, there is a Father’s Day offer. On 17th June, Dads eat free with two or more main courses!
