Review: Sunday Lunch at Thalassa Seafood Restaurant
On Sunday we had the pleasure to have a lovely family meal at Thalassa Seafood Restaurant in North London. Due to traffic and road works, we were slightly delayed for reservation, however the staff was very accommodating and we were seated straight away.
Thalassa offers a unique fusion experience of fresh fish and Mediterranean cuisine, giving customers something new and exciting with a core objective of offering seasonal quality fish at affordable price. You can have two courses from the Sunday Lunch Set Menu for only RRP £14.95, which is very reasonable and a great value for money.
I enjoyed a glass of white wine while hubby had a bottle of beer Peroni.
Hubby and I had the same starter this time. I was trying to convince him to choose a different dish, however we both love prawns, so we had Sizzling Prawns cooked in olive oil, garlic and chilli.
Hubby and I loved our prawns, it was very tasty and tender. We could have had a bigger starter as it was so delicious, however the main course was very generous.
There were other choices of starters on the menu: Deep Fried Oyster with sweet chilli and Barbeque Scallops with lobster bisque and white wine sauce. The table beside us had scallops as a starter and it looked really good. Next time, I would love to try the scallops.
Little man had Cod Fingers and Chips and he loved it, he told me it was very good and he finished his meal.
Children’s meal was beautifully cooked, not your average fish fingers, it was a nice piece of fresh cod, very moist with crispy batter and homemade chips. It was a good portion for RRP £5.95.
Usually hubby and I prefer to order different dishes so we can try each other’s choice, however this time we both wanted the same starter and main course.
Our next course was Fish Mix Grill served with a crispy salad and Cyprus hand cut chips. Our main course was beautifully presented and very filling.
There was baramundi, sea bass and king prawns and the chips were very tasty. The whole dish was nicely cooked and seasoned.
While we were enjoying our meal, hubby said that he could imagine himself in Cyprus. We were having lovely food in a nice atmosphere and beautiful restaurant, only the sea was missing.
Thalassa has a range of menus from A La Carte, Thalassa Fish and Meat House Meze to Early Bird and Sunday Lunch. There are also special offers and events on Thalassa website, so make sure you check them out.
Thalassa looks lovely inside and nicely decorated, highly recommended for all occasions whether you are looking for Sunday lunch, romantic dinner, business meeting or family event. Thalassa caters for all occasions holding up to 120 people seated, birthdays, christenings and weddings.
As we were leaving the restaurant, a private christening was about to start and I had the opportunity to meet the owner Lenos and have a brief chat.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Thalassa and we are definitely coming back again soon. The food was delicious and the service was great, very friendly and welcoming staff.
