Review: Original Robinsons Fruit Shoot Smencils

My little boy was sent a pack of Original Robinsons Fruit Shoot Smencils from Learning Resources. Yes, I did say Robinsons Fruit Shot. Those are not any ordinary pencils, they are gourmet scented and they smell absolutely gorgeous!

Original Robinsons Fruit Shoot Smencils (RRP £5.99) are unique environmentally friendly Smencils® scented graphite pencils made from 100% recycled newspaper.

These special new scents have been created in collaboration with Robinsons® Fruit Shoots™. They are available in the following scents: Tropical, Orange, Apple, Summer Fruits, Blackcurrant & Apple.

Smencils are the world’s only scented pencils made from 100% recycled newspapers. There is a large range of Smencils and Smens, scented pencils and pens, in over 20 delicious scents to collect in coloured or graphite pencil varieties, and as black ink ballpoint pens.

When I saw the Smencils, I knew it would be a success with little man. He absolutely loves books and notepads; he loves anything to do with colouring and drawing.

His first words when he saw Smencils were: “Mummy, smell them? They smell so nice!”. He spent a good few minutes simply smelling his Smencils. Once he had a good smell, he was ready to put them to the test and draw a nice picture.

I found quite clever that each Smencil stores in its own biodegradable tube, guaranteeing freshness for two years. Little man loved the idea of taking his “special pens” out of the tubes  then putting them back once he’s finished.

I have noticed on Learning Resources website that they have Christmas Smencils available. The set includes 5 graphite pencils in 5 different festive scents; Cinnamon, Candy Cane, Gingerbread, Holiday Cheer and Sugar Plum. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Smencils make a great stocking filler, I know what I will be getting little man for Christmas.
