West End Theatre Christmas Season: Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt

Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt, Third West End Christmas Show, is currently showing in London at the Criterion Theatre until 6th January!

Peppa Pig Show in London

We had the pleasure to go and see Peppa Pig before Christmas and little man had a great time. He was really excited as soon as I told him back about Peppa Pig’s Christmas Show in November and he couldn’t wait to see his favourite characters Peppa and George live.

On the day, little man was really excited. He couldn’t stop talking about Peppa Pig and he was counting the hours to the afternoon show.

Peppa Pig’s second live stage production proved to be a huge success on its travels the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland in 2011 – 2012, with sell-out performances wherever it went.

This enduringly popular production for younger children opened at the Criterion Theatre on Thursday 6 December, giving Peppa Pig her third consecutive Christmas season at the West End venue, and runs to 6 January.

The Peppa Pig stage-show has a very successful track record at the Criterion Theatre, where for the past two Christmas seasons Peppa Pig has played to packed houses (2010 and 2011), breaking all the theatre’s previous advance box office records. Her first stage tour, Peppa Pig’s Party, was also one of the top-selling children’s theatre shows in 2010 and 2011.

In Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt Peppa Pig and her friends set off on a new adventure, a treasure hunt. Peppa, her brother George and friend Danny Dog get up to fun and games on a day out on Granddad Dog’s boat. There are clues aplenty as Pedro Pony, Polly Parrot and Zoe Zebra help them find their treasure as they all enjoy a day of adventure. Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt features true-to-life puppets, sing-along songs and a story that will charm and delight all her fans.

The director is Richard Lewis who has also adapted the show for stage. He has many acclaimed children’s stage shows to his credit, including Fimbles, the two LazyTown Live! tours (2007/08 and 2009) and the current tour of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, which premiered in October 2012.

Little man had a lovely time and he really enjoyed Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt. The show was very interactive and little man was joining in during the whole show. I must say that daddy and I were enjoying it too and had a great afternoon!

Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt is produced by Fiery Angel and Limelight Productions, the team behind the recent tours of LazyTown Live!, Roald Dahl’s The BFG, the first Peppa Pig tour, Peppa Pig’s Party and the current tour of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom.

I know how busy it gets in the run up to Christmas and between Christmas and New Year, probably you haven’t had much spare time lately. It is quite handy that the kids go back to school next week, so there is still a few days left of the school holiday.

If you haven’t had the chance to see Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt yet, make sure you get down to the Criterion Theatre before Sunday. It’s a lovely production and guaranteed fun to the whole family!
