Come Round: Gallo Moscato Party and Cupcake Recipe
A couple of weekends ago, I hosted my very first Come Round Party.
Initially, our Gallo Moscato Party was meant to take place on 19th January, but it had to be postponed until the following Saturday due to severe weather conditions.
Come Round was very understanding and issued a message allowing hosts to change their party if it wasn’t safe to host that weekend.
The roads around our house were very icy and there was a lot of snow, so we decided to postpone our party to the 26th January.
Hosts of Gallo Moscato House Parties all over England and Wales received a party pack containing a selection of goodies.
The party pack included lusciously sweet Gallo Moscato wine, some music to listen to at the party, crunchy Almond Cantuccini biscuit from Arden and Amici and other goodies.
The decoration was also provided for the party: poster, bright balloons in Moscato colours, scented candle, white tissue coasters, wine glass printed and wine-glass charms.
We had a lovely party, I made some sweet moscato cupcakes with the recipe provided in the party pack.
My guests commented that it was such a nice idea to bake a cake with the wine and they found the cupcakes very tasty!
Before the party, I found out that Gallo Moscato wine is perfect with Asian cuisine, light desserts, fresh fruit and mild cheeses.
I also served smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel bites, nuts, muffins and a selection of cupcakes with the wine and biscotti.
Almond Cantuccini from Arden and Amici was lovely and crunchy. It was suggested that it should be dipped in the wine.
At first, we were not sure whether it would go down well, but it tasted fine. I still prefer taking a bite of the biscuit then having a sip of wine instead of dipping the biscuit.
It was my first time trying Gallo Moscato and all our guests mentioned that they never had it before the party.
We were all pleasantly surprised with how light and sweet it was. It is a sweet wine without being over sweet or sickening.
Gallo Moscato is a sweet light to medium-bodied wine with flavours of juicy peach, pineapple, citrus and orange blossom.
The fruity notes complemented the wine, giving it a refreshing and crisp finish.
One of my guests mentioned that it is an “easy drinking wine” and another guest highlighted that “it is lightly fizzy”.
Before they pointed out about being fizzy, I didn’t notice the little bubbles in the glass.
If you leave the wine in your mouth for a few seconds, you can actually feel the little bubbles from the wine.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the party. My guests left saying that they are going to look out for Gallo Moscato next time they go shopping.
Before trying Gallo Moscato, hubby wasn’t a big fan of sweet wines, but he has now changed his mind and enjoys it!
Thank you to Come Round and Gallo Family Vineyards for the opportunity to host a Gallo Moscato Party.
We were sent a recipe for Sweet Moscato Cupcakes, so I had to try them. I love baking, even more if there is wine in the recipe!
