Unforgettable Family Memory
My favourite family photo has to be the one taken by my husband while I was asleep. Usually, I would have told him off for taking a photo of me sleeping with messy hair and wearing my bathrobe, but this photo is different.
This photo has our newborn baby in it, our little boy was only a few weeks old when this memory was captured. He is our first (and only) baby and he is watching me sleeping. I would love to get inside his little mind and find out what he was thinking at the exact moment the photo was taken.
Did he know I was his mum? What did he think of me? Was he enjoying his first few weeks in the big world? Was he comfortable?
As you can imagine, I was exhausted after giving birth to our son, I was still getting used to breastfeeding on demand and I was quite tired.
Of course, the whole motherhood journey has been very rewarding and enjoyable, but it was quite tiring at the start when I was adjusting to having a little person in our lives.
This photo basically captures the first feelings of having a newborn: enjoyment and excitement of meeting your little one (you can see how tight I am holding my new baby), tiredness (I don’t usually fall asleep on the sofa, but I didn’t even notice myself falling asleep) and reality check (from now on, we would be having another someone in the world, he will be watching our every move and be with us forever).
No matter how my hair looks or what I am wearing, this is our favourite family photo. I must say thank you so much for hubby for taking this picture and captured it forever! It was just a quick snap on his phone, but we can treasure it forever and it has become an unforgettable family memory!
