Mums Show Live 2013

This afternoon, we went to the Mums Show Live at Alexandra Palace, which is the new and only show for mums of school-aged children. Once we arrived, we picked up our free show guide and goody bag.

The Mums Show Live is a day out for the whole family, there are hundreds of exhibitions and exclusive offers, you can also take part in interesting topics discussed in the conversation theatre by experts and celebrities.

I was pleased with my nails after receiving a mini-manicure at the show. Students from the London College of Beauty Therapists are offering complimentary manicure for visitors, so it is worth stopping by for some much-deserved pampering.

We spent the whole afternoon at the show as there is quite a lot to see. Little man was delighted with The Tree House, which is kids entertainment area provided by LittleBird. There is face-painting, games, books and circus skills. Little man was very pleased with his spiderman face-painting and he had fun playing with WOW toys at The Tree House. He had a great time playing at snowboard/bouncy board by Snozone.

The Mums Show Live covers several categories, from lifestyle to fashion, home and garden. There are also stands to discuss education services and teaching aides. We went to the DryNites stand in the School Gates area, check it out for Pyjama Pants samples and their new potty training website.

There are kids favourite character appearances during the show. While we were walking, little man was pleased to meet Peppa Pig, one of his favourite characters. We have recently hosted a Peppa Pig party, so he was over the moon to meet Peppa!

While we were at the show, we met some companies that we have worked with and others that we haven’t heard about, so it was a good mixture of well-known and new products.  We have previously reviewed Traykit, and I was pleased to meet Solvej Biddle, owner of Content and Calm.

Toys and games are being demonstrated at the Play Zone, which is a try it, ask about it and buy it area from the experts at The Good Toy Guide. Little man had lots of fun playing there!

When we visited the UKMumsTV stand, we saw a demonstration of the brand new ChillFactor slushie maker, we reviewed it a few days ago and loved it! We noticed a few new toys on their stand, little man enjoyed ridding on the Roomii, which is a wheeled storage for toys, kids can play, pull, store and ride the Roomii Monster that has a funky mouth for toys.

According to little man, the highlight of the UKMumsTV stand was their cool Skwooshi, which is a mess-free dough that never dries, and it is magical. Little man kept going back to their stand to have another go at the Skwooshi, I must say I had a little play too and, as a biologist, I’m still intrigued how it becomes soft after playing with it for a few seconds.

While we were at the Butlins stand, little man met the cute Billy the Bear and he was also entertained by the red coat team. He decorated his hand print and added it to the hand tree on the Butlins stand. So far, we have only had international holidays, but we would love to visit Butlins as our first UK holiday!
