Poppy Cat Returns to ITV & CITV Every Weekend

Little man is a Poppy Cat fan, he loves Poppy Cat books and Poppy Cat Toys. Since he met Poppy Cat at John Lewis, he loves Poppy Cat even more!

Gavin and Stacey star, Joanna Page, returns again to ITV and CITV as the voice of the popular pussycat, Poppy Cat, from Saturday 29th June. The bold and adventure-filled children’s animation series will air every Saturday and Sunday at 6:25am and 6:40am to win the hearts and minds of pre-schoolers across the UK.

Poppy Cat is based on the award-winning book series created by Lara Jones that has sold more than 2.5 million copies. The colourful and appealing characters spring to life from the page to the small screen in stories of friendship and fantasy play.

Joanna Page comments on voicing the beloved cat, Poppy, in the hit series, “I always think it’s really strange hearing your voice spoken by an animated character because I don’t think I sound like I do – especially when I’m doing Poppy Cat’s voice, which is slightly higher and cuter. In my head I think I’ve got a very deep mature-sounding English voice. And then I hear my voice as Poppy Cat and think, “Oh my gosh, I actually do sound like I’ve got quite a lilt in my voice and my voice is quite high!”
