Mike the Knight at Warwick Castle
Little man is such a Mike the Knight fan, he has even done a Mike the Knight video a few months ago!
Last weekend, we were invited to Warwick Castle to celebrate the launch of the second series of Mike the Knight beginning on CBeebies in mid-July, followed by the release of the brand new DVD “Be a Knight, Do It Right!” on 29th July.
As soon as I mentioned to little man that we would be going to the Castle to see his favourite character Mike the Knight, he was all excited and started a countdown to the big day. The Mike the Knight attraction at Warwick Castle encourages children to follow Mike’s rallying cry of ‘Be a Knight, do it Right’ by engaging in a series of knightly activities and chivalrous deeds.
Although we have never been to Warwick Castle before, we had no troubles getting there. Warwick Castle is ideally-situated in the heart of Britain’s motorway network, with easy access from London.
We left home early morning to make the most of our day out, got a train from London Marylebone with Chiltern Railways and arrived at Warwick in around an hour and a half. The boys were playing during the train journey, so the time went by quickly.
Once we arrived at Warwick Castle, the kids were delighted with the activity-filled Mike the Knight experiences. Mike the Knight was available to greet knights-in-training throughout the day, along with themed entertainers and performers. Little man loved meeting Mike and having his photo taken.
There were multiple activity zones on site including: archery at Mike’s Target Test; Galahad’s hobby horse racing; Sparkie and Squirt’s Dragon Egg Hunt; and Evie’s Wizard Workshop.
The attractions of Warwick Castle were available for us to explore! This includes: Raising the Portcullis; Flight of the Eagles Show; The Sword and the Stone; Firing the Trebuchet; Warwick Warriors live combat; and tours of state rooms and the Great Hall.
We had such a fantastic day, thank you Chiltern Railways for our train tickets and Warwick Castle for our entry tickets. Thank you Mike the Knight for putting such a big smile on little man’s face. The whole family had a fantastic day!
