The aim of the game is to be the player with the most cards after ten minutes. The simple concept can be played by all ages and in large groups, as well as a 1 person game. I like the fact it can be played on your own or with other players, it is a versatile game.

Little man and I have been playing “My First Pictures” together and we both enjoy it. The objective of the game is to study a card for 10 seconds and then answer a question based on the roll of a die. If the question is answered correctly, the card is kept and the person with the most number of cards after 5 or 10 minutes is the winner.

As little man can’t read yet, I had to read the question after he rolled the die. He had a lot of fun trying to remember the details of the picture. I should add that he had the card for more than 10 second timer, we stopped using the timer when I realised that he would need more time to memorize the details of the card.

As we spent more time looking at the cards, we ended up playing for over 10 minutes, and we were still having lots of fun. Since there are 55 cards in total, there are several different cards, enough for a few games without repeating them.

My First Pictures is about observation and memory, is a fun starter Brainbox for younger players. Little man loved playing with the bright and colourful illustrated cards, we have been  playing it ever since!
