My Top 3 Money Saving Tips

I love the idea of living the best that we can for as little as possible. Every day, we see on the news how the living costs have gone up while the salaries stayed the same. It’s not a surprise we are feeling the squeeze of the credit crunch, so saving money is a must at this time and age!

I have previously shared some money saving ideas and thrifty tips, so I put together our main tips to save as many pennies a possible while still enjoying life.

Tip 1: Vouchers and Coupons

Before going out to family days out and restaurants, it is worth having a look at the company’s website and voucher websites for money saving vouchers and coupons. I have found 2 for 1 deals, 50% off and other deals that saved us loads.

If you are going for a family day out by trains, check out the current offers as you can usually save rather a lot by showing your valid train ticket upon arrival.

Tip 2: Do You Need it?

As there are so many “sale” signs and reduced items all over the place, we are often led to believe we need another pair of black shoes and another pair of jeans. But the question is: do we really need it? I try and take a few minutes before making a purchase and ask myself “Is it essential? Should I buy it?” If the answer is yes, I will carry on and pay for it, otherwise I will return it to the shelf and go home pleased with my own decision.

Tip 3: Sell Unwanted Stuff

We all accumulate so much clutter and unwanted items, from clothes that are too small, clothes that are too big, those that we should have never bought in the first place. Electronics are also replaced really quickly since most people upgrade their phones ever one or two year. Once I am due an upgrade, I will sell my iphone and turn it into cash and putting it towards a family holiday!
