Top 10 Songs: My Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist
MoneySupermarket would like to find out our ultimate driving playlist. What songs do you love to listen to on long journeys? Are you going to a festival? What songs will be blaring out of your stereo on the way down to it?
You might be wondering WHY? There is a serious message behind the idea of a great driving soundtrack. THINK! research suggests that almost 20% of accidents on major roads are sleep or tiredness related. Long journeys on motorways can lead to a lack of concentration and, as well as other preventative measures, listening to songs you love can be a great way to stay alert and focused on the road.
I should start by saying that I love listening to music (and dancing) and driving too! I could write a long list, but I tried to keep it to my top 10 songs.
My Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist:
- Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira: I know I should be dancing while driving, but I need some beat in my life. I just love Shakira and Hips Don’t Lie is one of my favourite songs. I could listen to it all day long.
2. Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin: Another song I could listen (and sing along to) any time of the day!
3. November Rain by Guns N Roses: It reminds me of my brother and “nothing lasts forever, even the cold November rain” – everything comes and goes, no matter how good or bad it is, it will eventually go away, so I always make the most of the present!
4. Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses – “Welcome to the Jungle, we’ve got fun and games, We got everything you want honey” – Who doesn’t like fun and games?!
5. Hotel California by The Eagles – “Welcome to the Hotel California, Such a lovely place, Such a lovely face, Plenty of room at the Hotel California, Any time of year, You can find it here”. I’m driving everywhere, still looking for Hotel California, hopefully one day I will find it!
6. Chorando se Foi by Kaoma – As a Brazilian, I should add a Brazilian song somewhere in my top 10. Chorando se foi reminds me of Brazilian carnival and street parties!
7. Stairways to Heaven by Led Zeppelin – “And if you listen very hard, The tune will come to you at last.” I will be listening and looking for the stairways to heaven!
8. Still Haven’t Found by U2 – “But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for”…. I am still looking!
9. Yellow by Coldplay – “Look at the stars Look how they shine for you And everything you do Yeah, they were all yellow” Awwww how lovely that the stars show for me!
10. Feeling Hot Hot Hot by Arrow – It’s summer and it is hot, I am feeling Hot Hot Hot!
