Fruit Shoot Get Your Skills On
Fruit Shoot is launching Get Your Skills On, a campaign designed to give kids the chance to learn the latest cool skills ranging from street dance to free style basketball to urban percussion. In celebration, we were sent a Fruit Shoot Skills Pack to try, which includes tutorials from the Skills Crew along with some extra Fruit Shoot goodies, so that we could learn a range of new and exciting skills this summer.

We were also sent a series of cards detailing how to learn some new skills such as The Chest Roll with Drew Hoops, Parkour Roll with Connor Boost, Swipes with Roxy Flo, Ollie with La Trucks, Stepping with N.C. Flex and Slam Down Flick Up with Laura Kicks. They are all a bit advanced for a 4 year old, but we decided to try and do The Chest Roll. If you are trying this at home, please make sure you have plenty of space before you start and have fun!

Step 1: First up, hold a ball at chest height, with one hand on the top of the ball, and the other (with the palm facing down), underneath the ball.

Step 2: Now lean back from your hips, bend your left elbow slightly, and roll the ball down your left arm.

Step 3: Keep leaning back with your arms shaped in a C shape, and the ball should roll across your chest, and up your right arm.

Step 4: Now catch the ball with the back of both hands. That is one Chest Roll!

Step 5: Now try and see how many Chest Rolls you can do without catching the ball. Remember, practice makes perfect!

After all the exercise, some well deserved Fruit Shoot to hydrate. Although little man didn’t quite mastered The Chest Roll, he had lots of fun trying Fruit Shoot Get Your Skills On.
You can upload a video of the best skills you’ve learnt at www.nick.co.uk/fruitshoot to be in with a chance of being shortlisted for the Breakthrough Award at the annual Fruit Shoot Skills Awards, which will be shown on Nickelodeon in September.
