Back to School with Clarks Shoes
I cannot believe our little boy will be starting school this year, we have been getting his uniform ready and the last thing in our list was his school shoes. Over the weekend, we went shoe shopping to our local Clarks store within walking distance to our house.
Kids wear their school shoes for 1,000 hours per year, taking a whopping one million steps each throughout the academic year. Every year, each shoe in the back to school range is given 50 wear and tear tests by the team at Clarks, helping to make sure your child’s footwear lasts the school year – no matter how many scuffs, scrapes, after-school clubs and football games they endure.
Although we’ve bought shoes from Clarks before, we’ve never tried their school range as little man wore trainers to nursery. When we arrived at the store for our appointment, I noticed their large selection of school shoes. We were greeted by the staff and they measured little man’s feet. The sales assistant was very friendly and pleasant; he measured the width and length of his feet.
He then showed us a few options for school shoes, felt around the shoes to check whether they were the right fit, encouraged little man to try them on and walk around the store. The whole process was quite relaxing and little man felt comfortable throughout.
As little man’ shoes tend to get quite damaged at the front, we were recommended Stompo Day Inf (RRP £34) which is a dinosaur-inspired boys’ school shoes in durable leather with a rubber toe bumper and moulded teeth. Little man loved the funky design at the bottom of the shoes, a contrast fossil design sits on the sole, and the shoes have a double rip-tape fastening straps and antibacterial linings.
We also purchased a Black Fabric Long Jump Plimsolls (RRP £9) which have a black canvas upper and durable lightweight rubber sole. They have an adjustable riptape fastening strap and softed padded collar for comfortable fit.
Little man loves his school shoes and he can’t wait to start wearing them for school. I am very happy with the quality of the shoes and they seem very comfortable too. As little man will wear his school shoes all day long, I want to make sure his little feet are well looked after, and we will be going back to Clarks for another pair once he has grown out of those shoes.
