I believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I always make sure little man has a bowl of cereal before leaving home for school. I understand the importance of giving him a healthy start to the day by providing him with breakfast.

Kelloggs Breakfast Unfortunately, not all children have access to this vital nourishment – and Kellogg’s has become more and more concerned about the effect that this crucial lack of morning brain fuel is having on our children’s education.

Kellogg’s research revealed that children arriving at school hungry are missing the learning equivalent of 70pc of one school term over their entire primary school life; over a quarter (28pc) of teachers claim that there has been an increase in children arriving at school hungry; and one in four teachers has seen a child fall asleep in the classroom due to a lack of food or drink. Kelloggs Breakfast3 Kellogg’s has launched a nationwide ‘Help Give a Child a Breakfast’ campaign to donate two million breakfasts to school breakfast clubs in the most deprived areas in the UK, but in order to reach their goal of donating two million breakfasts to school, Kellogg’s needs your help.

All you have to do is to go to http://www.giveachildabreakfast.co.uk, and click on the Facebook, Twitter or YouTube icons in order to share news of the campaign and help give a child a breakfast.

If you have a breakfast club, or would like to set up a breakfast club at your school, you can visit the website to apply for grant and food vouchers. I believe ‘Help Give a Child a Breakfast’ is a great initiative, and you simply need to spare a tweet or share on Facebook to get involved.
