Our Mr Tumble #SomethingSpecialParty !
A couple of days ago, we hosted a Something Special Party with UKMums.tv. We were looking forward to it and counting the days since we found out we had been chosen as party hosts and posted our invite to our #SomethingSpecialParty.
We have previously hosted a Peppa Pig Theme Park Party and had a great time, so we knew straight away that our Something Special Party would be great from the moment we received our amazing party pack. It had everything we needed to host the party, including the new Something Special toys, cakes, cupcakes and balloons.
Something Special features the much loved presenter Justin Fletcher, together with his alter-ego Mr Tumble. The show encourages children to explore the world around them and incorporates the use of Makaton, a recognised form of communication using signs and symbols, as well as rhymes and songs, to encourage and develop language in a fun and exciting way.
This autumn Golden Bear is launching a new collection of Something Special Toys inspired by the hit CBeebies show. The range will be available at Tesco and include Mr Tumble toys and accessories, such as Mr Tumble Textured Spotty Bag, with 4 textured spots to help stimulate senses and 5 finder cards with Makaton signs to help establish recognition of popular household items.
The following Something Special Toys were also in our Party Box: Auntie Polly Tea Party Puzzle with 8 bright coloured, chunky pieces to stimulate visual senses and develop hand to eye coordination. Pick ‘n’ Match Pairs Game with 18 different designs including Mr Tumble, Aunt Polly and Grandpa Tumble, designed to help to develop visual memory and communication skills through the use of Makaton.
There was a selection of Mr Tumble soft toys in different sizes, from small to large: Mr Tumble Talking Soft Toy which says fun phrases and sounds from the show when you press his tummy, Mr Tumble Interactive Toy which says 6 fun phrases and his nose lights us, and a Extra Large Cuddly Mr Tumble made from extra soft textured fabric.
The most popular toys during our Something Special Party was Dress-up Mr Tumble Stick-on Felts where kids can mix and match Mr Tumble’s clothes to create outfits from the 28 felts pieces, including spotty scarf, ties and even spotty pants!
Little man had fun decorating spotty cupcakes for our Something Special party and his cousins loved the cupcakes too. We also made a spotty jelly by adding Jelly Tots to yellow jelly which was also very popular with our guests.
We used yellow icing, colourful pieces of chocolate and Something Special edible paper to decorate our cupcakes. Once the kids had pizza and nuggets, they were ready for the Mr Tumble cake and Something Special cupcakes.
We played a few games during our Something Special party, including Pin the Nose on Mr Tumble; What’s in the Spotty Bag with Mr Tumble Textured Spotty Bag; What’s Mr Tumble going to say next with Mr Tumble Interactive Toy; Colouring in Mr Tumble; and Something Special Pass the Parcel which were all a success!
Overall, the kids had a great time at our Something Special Party, they are all massive Mr Tumble fans, so they loved playing with the new toys. During the party, I was tweeting about the games we were playing, and sharing our thoughts on the new range, while trying to keep the kids entertained and feeding them. It was all quite busy, but very enjoyable!
Little man had a big smile on his face from the moment we put the first balloon up to when our last guest left the party. It was a fun-filled party full of laughter, the little ones were all very happy with the gifts from Pass the Parcel and other games, and the lovely Something Special Party bag. The new Something Special toys were very popular and our Something Special Party was a success!
Thank you very much to UKMumsTV for the opportunity of being a host, we loved every second of it!
