Celebrate Christmas with Tesco!
A few months ago, I was invited to attend Tesco’s Christmas in July event to have a sneak peek of what I could expect for this year’s festive season. I love Christmas, it is definitely the best time of the year. It usually takes us weeks to get ready to Christmas, from the moment the first present is bought to last minute shopping on Christmas Eve, but it is definitely worth it.
I’ve always loved Christmas, but since we had little man, it became even more special and magical. Nothing compares to a child’ smile when opening their presents on Christmas morning, it is priceless!
During Tesco’s Christmas in July event, I had the chance to have a first look at decorations, food, drink, gifts and more. It was a magical morning, it really felt like Christmas from the moment we arrived and saw the cute gingerbread houses at the entrance.
My favourite part of Christmas is the family meal, it is the perfect time to get together and spend quality time with our loved ones. I spotted a lovely selection of Christmas food at the Tesco event, including a selection of nuts to have with a drink before the Christmas meal. The salted caramel nuts were definitely my favourite!
There was a large range of starters on offer, from traditional to Asian-style canapés. The dim sums looked very tasty.
I loved seeing products to help busy mums like me to cut corners and save time, while still enjoying a nice meal. The canapés cases are a great idea if you prefer to customise your canapés but don’t have enough time to make your pastry. You can simply add your filling your choice to impress your guests with homemade canapés.
For the main course, I was impressed with the ham presented in a stand, it comes complete with a carving knife and the stand packs flat once you finished using it. It would be ideal for hubby, he’s a chef and likes to impress our guests.
In case you don’t eat meat, you could have a whole salmon for the Christmas meal. I could actually have both, the ham and the salmon as both looked delicious!
I have also spotted a wide selection of frozen products. If you like planning your meal in advance to avoid the crowded supermarkets in the days leading up to Christmas, you could stock up from Tesco frozen range.
After the Christmas meal, I always look forward to the Christmas pudding, the Finest range has a gorgeous Christmas pudding that I would love to have in our meal.
I really like mince pies, I look forward to it all year round, but if you prefer a different pie, you could have chocolate hazelnut pies or caramel pies. I tried both and I am still trying to decide which one is my favourite!
After the mince pies, I would have a nice piece of cheese or two with crackers. Hubby would love to receive a Cheese and Ale gift set, complete with two types of cheeses, two ales and chutney.
The Christmas chocolates were smooth and creamy. You could have a chocolate Christmas tree in milk chocolate, drizzled with white chocolate, too cute to be eaten.
Another highlight of the event was the stained glass shortbread biscuit kit. Little man loves baking, so I am sure he would have lots of fun making his very own Christmas tree biscuits. They look quite sophisticated, but they come in a kit to bake at home.
Overall, I really enjoyed Tesco Christmas products and I am looking forward to Christmas. Bring on the festive season and mince pies!
