Our daily life is very busy, we both work full-time while little man is at school, so unfortunately we don’t get much time together during the week. We love spending quality time together as a family so we make the most of our weekends together and any holiday we may have.
Since we were chosen as Butlins Ambassadors 2013/2014, we were counting the days to our first holiday to Butlins. We have heard a lot about Butlins, most of our friends and family have already been to one of their seaside resorts, and we were looking forward to going to Butlins for our family holiday.
Butlins has three seaside resorts in the UK: Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness. We picked Bognor Regis, a traditional West Sussex seaside town, for our first Butlins holiday. Bognor Regis resort has three contemporary resort hotels, Ocean, Wave and Shoreline Hotel , a spa, restaurant by Michelin star chef Brian Turner, and plenty of activities for the whole family.
We went to Butlins with our cousins and their kids, they have been to Butlins Bognor Regis several times, so it was lovely to hear tips and share our holidays with them. We stayed at the Shoreline Hotel, highly recommended for families with young children as it is home to Billy Bear ad his friends.
Our children are from 4 to 8 years old, they loved meeting and greeting their favourite characters at the hotel foyer for photo opportunity and taking part in daily activities such as story telling, drawing and crafts. You can also put Billy Bear to bed, sing him nursery rhymes and bedtime stories, the little ones loved taking part in Billy’s bedtime routine.
We stayed at the Nelson’s Stateroom, gorgeous room with sea view and stylish floor to ceiling windows. I found extremely relaxing looking at the sea from our balcony during the day, and lying in bed listening to waves at night.
The main bedroom had a lovely king size bed, you can also have twin beds if you prefer, cosy bathrobes, soft towels folded into cute animals, comfortable slippers, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge, flat screen TV and DVD player. There was also a hair dryer, safe, iron and ironing board. I would be happy to live at the Nelson’s Stateroom, it had everything we needed!
The kids loved their room at the Shoreline Hotel, separate children’s den with bunk beds, TV and playstation. The telescope in the living room area was a success with the kids, they were using it even during the day to look at the bright blue sky.
The bathroom had a bath tub and shower with curtains, a range of toiletries, including shampoo, shower gel, soap, body lotion, shower cap, and sewing kit. They were packed nicely in a lovely toiletry bag, particularly useful if you fancy taking them with you to shower after swimming at Splash Waterworld.
We had a great view from our hotel room, we could look at the beach and also see the Skyline Pavillion from the balcony. When we were not busy taking part in activities, we loved relaxing in the patio and lying down in the sun loungers.
Overall, we absolutely loved staying at Butlins, our spacious and beautifully decorated room at the Shoreline Hotel exceeded our expectations on every single aspect: size, style and comfort. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The daily housekeeping kept our room nice and tidy, while the cute animal towels added a lovely touch to our stay.
The kids were delighted to see their favourite characters on a daily basis, Billy Bear and his friends were very friendly and happy to pose for photos. Being in the same hotel as Billy added a magical touch to our family holiday.
This is just the first part of our review, we have also talked about the lovely food in our Hotel Dining and fun activities offered as Entertainment at Butlins Bognor Regis.
