Clement Moore’s The Night Before Christmas is one of the most treasured and loved seasonal rhymes of all time. As St. Nick and eight tiny reindeer descend through a brilliant night sky onto the roof of a Victorian house in a snowy New England village, the famous Christmas poem begins.

‘Twas the night before Christmas,

When all through the house

Not a creature was stirring,

Not even a mouse’.

The Night Before Christmas is a gorgeous book with bright and beautiful illustrations.  Little man loved the sparkling book cover and the lovely pictures inside. He is into rhyming at the moment, so he really enjoyed the poem.

It is Christmas eve, daddy is awake and sees Santa and his reindeer flying past the window in his sleigh. Dad sees Santa coming down the chimney, delivering the Christmas presents, then off he goes.

‘He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim ere he drove out of sight,

“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!”
