Fun Family Day Out with HP at Westfield

A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to visit the Christmas-themed pop-up HP House in Westfield White City to take part in fun and creative printing activities available from HP.

Our fun-filled family day out started with craft activities at the pop-up HP House, followed by exclusive VIP access to Westfield’s 4D Santa’s Grotto Experience, lovely lunch at Pizza Express and ice skating. What an amazing day!

It was lovely arriving at Westfield before it opened to the public, we had a very enjoyable time at the pop-up HP House, the whole family got involved with the Christmas-themed activities, colouring stockings and making paper chains.

While we were there, we discovered a few features from HP Creative Studio, such as designing your own recipe cards by copying and pasting the recipe from the internet or your favourite cookbook, then making into a lovely recipe card. You can also add photos to the recipe cards, it is easy and simple to make and the final result is lovely.

We were introduced to HP Live Photo, a fun way of create interactive cards, perfect for Christmas cards. You can make your photos come to life with HP Life Photo by creating printed photos that play videos when viewed with the Free HP Live Photo App.

We stood by the Christmas tree and recorded a short message, when the card was printed it looked like a normal Christmas card, but when you hover your phone or tablet over the photo using the app, you can watch the video and we come to live saying ‘Merry Christmas’.

You can add videos up to 45 seconds and the Free HP Live Photo App is available for iOS and Android. It is such a fun way to send messages to loved ones, ideal for those that can’t be with their family at Christmas but still want to send them a personal message to put a smile on their faces. You can also use the app to create invitations and share special moments.

After our time at the HP House, we visited Westfield’s 4D Santa’s Grotto and had a magical experience. Little man loved watching the personalised Christmas animated story and seeing his name and picture featured in the short movie. We had our photo taken with Santa and little man was given a special gift to put under the Christmas tree.

We then stopped for delicious lunch at Pizza Express, followed by ice-skating at Westfield’s Indoor Ice Rink. A couple of years ago, we took little man ice skating and he was a bit scared, perhaps because he was only 2 at the time. Now he’s 4 and a half and had a great time ice skating, he sat at the seal while mummy and daddy took into turns pushing him in the ice, he had a priceless smile on his face!
