A Champagne Thank You and Special Meal by Waitrose
This weekend, my mum is going back to Brazil after staying with us for over a month, I can’t believe how quickly it has gone by. It was great celebrating Christmas with my mum and our cousins from France – felt so special!
It was all booked last minute, so it was a lovely surprise having a full house over Christmas. We had a delicious meal thanks to Waitrose for sending us a step by step Christmas dinner cooking plan and tasty snacks to enjoy before our meal.
My mum has been an amazing help this month and we loved having her round, so we wanted to say a massive thank you before she left. Waitrose got in touch and invited us to spread some joy in January and inspire others to find cause for a champagne celebration.

Although I’m not drinking this month as I’m doing Dry January, my mum deserves a special thank you so, with Waitrose’s help, I surprised her with a glass of bubbly and a special meal.
I made Aromatic Chicken with Almonds and Apricot, one of the recipes found on Waitrose website, and served it with couscous flavoured with fresh lemon juice. Our meal was very tasty and the whole family enjoyed, especially my mum. We will be sad to say goodbye and see her going back, but we are happy we had the chance to celebrate her time here with a delicious meal and lovely champagne.
