Brazilian Recipe: Passion Fruit Mousse (Maracuja)
I’ve recently shared one of my favourite Brazilian Recipe: Pudim de Leite Condensado, which is similar to crème caramel and flan, light and creamy. Another dessert that I really like is Passion Fruit Mousse, known in Brazil as Mousse de Maracuja.
Passion Fruit Mousse is easy to make and so tasty, brings a touch of sunshine in the cold wintery days!
Brazilian Recipe: Passion Fruit Mousse (Maracuja)
Ingredients:
- 4 sheets of leaf gelatine
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 2 cans of passion fruit juice
- 1 tub of WeightWatchers crème fraiche
- 2 passion fruit
Method:
Prepare the gelatine according to the manufacturer’s instructions, by dropping the gelatine leaves into a bowl of cold water, and leaving to soak for around 5 minutes until soften.
Squeeze out the gelatine leaves and dissolve in a saucepan over low heat, stir until thoroughly dissolved.
Place the condensed milk into a blender, using the can to measure the passion fruit juice, add the crème fraiche and gelatine. Blend until all ingredients are combined and the mixture is smooth.
Pour into individual ramekins or large bowl, put in the fridge for around 4 hours, until it is set. To serve, halve the passion fruit and spoon the pulp over each mousse.
