Competition: #Win Campbell Gets the London Look Book Set
Little man loves reading books and having a day out in London, we always have fun walking around and sightseeing in London.
We were delighted to find out that this month Campbell Books, an imprint of Macmillan Children’s Books, re-launched with a playful new logo and livery on all front-list titles, including Hello! London, part of Campbell Gets the London Look.
The journey begins with Hello! London published on the 2nd January 2014. Illustrated by Marion Billet, Hello! London is a fantastic example of how Campbell’s new look is not only innovative, contemporary and relevant, but demonstrates perfectly how Campbell books connect to a child’s world.
All of Campbell’s books have a child-centred sense of fun and are softly educational – they are just as much at home in the toy box as they are on the bookshelf.
We were sent copies of ‘Campbell Gets the London Look’ books: Hello! London, the London buggy buddies and the whizzy wheels.
Little man really enjoyed seeing his favourite London places in the books, helps to remind him where he has been.
Hello! London (RRP £9.99) is a first book of London landmarks with lots to spot and talk about. It is an interactive book in which you can push, pull and slide the scene to explore the sights of the busy city.
Little man had fun turning the London Eye, opening and closing Tower Bridge, taking a ride on the Tube, opening and closing the doors.
The whizzy wheels books, My First London Bus and My First London Taxi were also popular with little man. In My First London Bus (RRP £5.99), you can follow the red bus around the streets of London visiting the sights, then close the book and push it along on its moving wheels and go on your own journey.
In My First London Taxi (RRP £5.99), you can follow the black taxi around London, visiting places such as Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square and Tower Bridge. While reading the book, I noticed that it kept little man entertained by asking you to spot specific things such as ‘Can you see a Union flag?’
We were also sent the London buggy buddies, London Bus (RRP £4.99) and London Taxi (RRP £4.99). There are a very first book about London, suitable to attached to buggies, highchairs and car seats. Little man doesn’t have a pushchair anymore, but he enjoyed having the little London books as travel books. They are great to keep little ones entertaining during car journeys.
Whether you’re a visitor from within the British Isles, or have travelled from further afield, these bright contemporary titles capture the imagination and are a winning combination of format and style.
