Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche

Last year, I tried a few Weight Watchers products, from chocolate muffins to breakfast cereals, and found that they are low in calories, but full of flavour. You can still enjoy sweet treats while watching your waistline.

I have recently been invited to take part in Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche Challenge, and asked to come up with a selection of recipes, including a starter, main course and dessert, using Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche as an essential ingredient.

I must confess I’ve never cooked with crème fraiche before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as soon as I tried Weight Watchers Crème Fraiche, I found out it was deliciously thick, made in the West Country using fresh British milk. It is low in fat and ideal for cooking and spooning, offering an alternative to healthy cooking.

I’ve made a quick and health salad for starter: Smoked Salmon and Creme Fraiche Salad (Recipe). Smoked Salmon is usually served with cream cheese, but I swapped it for Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche to cut down the calories, without compromising on the taste.

For main course, I made a Creamy Chicken and Leek Pie (Recipe), hearty pie ideal to be enjoyed on cold evenings. Instead of double cream, I used Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche to make a creamy sauce.

For desserts, I made a Brazilian Recipe: Passion Fruit Mousse, fruity dessert with Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche instead of double cream. It was lovely!

By swapping cream cheese and double cream for Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche, I managed to cut down the calories and fat content of the dishes, without compromising on the taste. The starter, main course and desserts were delicious, showing that Weight Watchers Creme Fraiche is a versatile product which can be used on sweet and savoury dishes.
