COMPETITION: Own Your Body Shape and #Win a Boohoo Dress #Ownit
I love new clothes, however sometimes they just don’t match my body shape – they look great online, but once I try it on, it doesn’t look right. I have a petite hourglass figure and it is not always easy finding an outfit that fits me perfectly well.
Leading fashion etailer boohoo has created a guide on how to refresh your wardrobe for 2014, with this season’s new key pieces to flatter your figure and get you looking stylish, whatever your body shape. The bottom line? Don’t just wear it, OWNIT!
A look that can tell a thousand stories; whether its teamed up with a pair of sneakers and backpack or transformed with a pair of heeled sandals and a Perspex clutch – the ultimate dress of the season is the drop waist smock dress. The look takes on many new guises from monochrome colour blocking inspired by ICB, Sport Lux in Chambray at Balmain and midi styling at Louis Vuitton. Perfect for those leggy ladies with the more athletic figures or our petite friends would also look gorgeous in this number!
Looking casually cool is not as easy as it sounds, but for Tall and Pear shaped ladies no need to look any further! Shirt dresses can be worn either on their own, with a statement belt and chunky boots or alternatively festival goers could rock one with some cut off shorts and a vest top.
This is the only jacket you will need this spring! Why let Cara Delevinge and Rita Ora steal the show! Coming in a range of styles from quilted, metallic to floral this statement piece fits any shape!
Long gone are the bodycon and maxi for a night on the tiles, think 80’s power sophistication for your next party with a jumpsuit! Trousers are in which Emma Watson showed perfectly at the recent Golden Globes! Tall and Pear shaped figures rejoice and think about a wide leg jumpsuit teamed up with sandals and gold accents!
Gone are the days of the dresses where we need the help of a few friends to pull us into them! Flattering shift dresses are the hottest look around (whilst covering up those bits you don’t want to show off!) This style would look lovely on Hourglass, Petite and Pear figures.
I love this gorgeous Nova Sporty Sleeve Double Layer Bodycon Dress (RRP £20.00) with crew neckline and sporty style mesh sleeves. It is available in black and white, it has an on-trend double layer design to edge up your evening wear. I wear my double layer bodycon dress with this fashionable Molly Cutwork Clutch Bag (RRP £12.00), also available in yellow and it comes with removable straps.
The new wardrobe edition that keeps giving for spring: matching box crop tees and high waisted trousers accompanied with daring prints makes co-ordinating those outfits that much easier this spring. Like Nicole Richie and Rachael Bilson are leading the way with this new trend. Petite and athletic figures can rock this style!
They’re back, BIG TIME. Trousers that look like a skirt? Like the Skort these beautiful midi skirt like items are edgy but also so comfy! Tall Ladies rejoice! Team together with a box crop and you are ready for whatever the day will bring!
Stand out from the crowd like the runways of Antonio Berardi and mix metallics. Apple figured ladies will love the fit of boxy tees and equally how they go seamlessly with almost anything you put on your pins!
