Keep Calm and Eat Pancakes

We are so looking forward to Pancake Day next Tuesday on 4th March, it is a perfect excuse to have as many pancakes as you wish.

We love experimenting with pancakes, from making a colourful Pancake Rainbow to Easy Pancake Recipes. We love pancakes and make it quite often, but if you don’t, you could try using a pancake mix instead.

Morrisons sent us a box of pancake goodies to try out, including Morrisons Batter Mix, easy and simple to make, you just need to add two eggs and water. We also received a selection of ingredients to make our toppings,  Morrisons Chocolate Spread, Morrisons Honey with Lemon, lime, sugar and a couple of kitchen utensils.

Pancake with Nectarine and Plum with Drizzle of Lemon Honey

We had lots of fun making pancakes, enjoying with our favourite toppings. Little man’s favourite pancake topping was South African peaches and plums from Beautiful Country, Beautiful Fruit, drizzled with lemon flavoured honey. It was sweet and fruity!

February is the peak season for South African peaches, plums and nectarines. They are grown mostly in the valleys of South Africa’s Western Cape, where the warm and sunny weather provides perfect conditions for the production of sweet, juicy, delicious fruit. Last year we made a Pancakes with Peach Compote and it was delicious.

Hubby is a chocolate fan, he enjoyed his pancake with Morrisons Chocolate Spread, he said it was delicious and it didn’t need anything else.

He mentioned that the supermarket own brand was comparable in taste to a branded product we usually buy, we are considering swapping as the taste is very similar.

Pancake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Maple Syrup

I enjoyed my pancakes with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of Clark’s maple syrup. It is available in four different flavours and I was sent the Original version, maple syrup harvested from the Quebec region of Canada blended with carob fruit sugar, made from the sugar of the Mediterranean carob fruit.  Original Clark’s maple syrup is not as strong as pure maple syrup, but it is tasty.

We loved our pancakes toppings, what is your favourite? Whichever topping you prefer, Keep Calm and Eat Pancakes!
