Wrap Up This Spring: Top Trends for Girls
Will this cold weather front ever let up? It seems like it’s been ages since we had some decent weather and, unfortunately, the cold, wet and windy weather is showing no signs of abating. As spring creeps in though, we can but hope that the sun will emerge from behind the clouds and bring some warmer weather with it.
It’s not quite time to ditch all the warm clothing though. While many Brits will forgo the jacket as soon as the sun comes out, others will be more sensible and choose to stay warm on a crisp spring day. This is especially important for kids, too, who need to stay warm and cosy, whatever the weather.
Spring is a great time to update the kid’s wardrobes, adding a few bits and bobs that will tide them over until the summer arrives. Take a look at some of these top trends for girls so that they can have a fabulous looking wardrobe to take them fashionably through the next couple of seasons:
Hoodies
Casual, cool and trendy, girl’s hoodies are a great addition to a wardrobe, while providing warmth and comfort for the blustery days. George’s girl’s hoodies, such as the Dog and Heart Print Hoody for £6 in vibrant black and pink colours, would look awesome teamed with jeans, leggings and skirts alike.
Dresses
It may not be warm enough to wear sleeveless dresses on their own just yet, but pair one with a cardigan and some cute tights and your little girl will feel feminine and pretty in no time! Plus, as the weather improves, they can just take away the cardigan!
Leggings
Super versatile and cool, leggings are a fab piece of clothing to add to a young girl’s wardrobe. They could wear them underneath skirts as an alternative to tights, or on their own with a long T shirt for a casual look. Plus, there are loads of really funky leggings on the rails at the moment, from patterned and floral to character leggings and ones that pay tribute to every little girl’s fave band, One Direction!
Jackets
While you will soon be able to put away the winter, fur-lined coat, the kids will still need something to keep the chill at bay on drab days. There are plenty of gorgeous jackets and coats available that are cute as well as functional, from padded raincoats and gilets to duffle coats and Parka jackets that will make your daughter look like she’s walked straight out of the 60s!
Shoes
Say goodbye to the winter boots and wellies (well, perhaps keep hold of them for a little bit longer) and treat your girl to some trendy hi-tops or ballet pumps that will look perfect with her new outfits. While you could splash out on some trendy Converse pumps, you can also find some great value alternatives at George, such as these fab Star Hi-Tops for a bargain price of £12.
Treat your daughter to some new threads this spring and spruce up her wardrobe – she’ll love it and it will make you supermum in her eyes, for a day or so at least!
