Chessington World of Adventures and Scorpion Express
We love theme parks, but somehow we had never been to Chessington World of Adventures until a few days ago. We looking forward to visiting the resort, it has just re-opened on the 19th March following a £14million investment, it is now bigger and better than any other.
Our family visited the resort to experience Britain’s Wildest Adventure and we had a fun-filled day from the moment we arrived at the Chessington Resort Hotel for breakfast.
The food was delicious, we loved the scorpion themed breakfast, little man even had scorpion painted on his face. Once our bellies were full, we were ready for the day ahead.
Our first ride was the brand new family ride, The Scorpion Express within Mexicana’s Scorpion Valley, a land of sweeping sands and gold mines. We boarded the old train of the Scorpion Express as it’s the only way to cross the sand, ruins of the mines and abandoned town.
Little man loved the surprises along the way, when the scorpion squirted water on him and also when the real fire suddenly appeared from the mine. The whole family really enjoyed riding the Scorpion Express, it’s a family friendly rollercoaster, suitable for children over 0.9m. We loved it so much that we went back a few times.
As it was our first time at Chessington, we were looking forward to exploring the rest of the theme park. We were delighted to find out that there is something for everyone, over 40 rides and attractions in 10 themed lands, all clearly explained and easily to find with the help of the theme park map.
Apart from Scorpion Express, little man had loads of fun at Bubbleworks, going round at the Carousel, driving at Tiny Truckers and Toadie’s Crazy Cars, going up and down at the Jungle Bus, bumper cars at Tuk Tuk Turmoil and riding on the wheel in Peeking Heights. We also managed to see part of Madagascar Live! Prepare to Party and it was great fun!
We went to Vampire together and we all loved it. I thought little man would be scared, but he enjoyed the ride and even asked to go again. I have a feeling that daddy was more scared than little man, nevertheless we all went again.
I love thrill rides, and my favourites were flying over treetops in Vampire, funky spinning rollercoaster Dragon’s Fury, spinning backwards and forwards on Kobra, hanging upside down from Rameses Revenge and enjoying rattling rollercoaster Rattlesnake.
After lunch, we explored SEA LIFE centre full of beautiful fish tanks, including interactive rock pools and a walk-through ocean tunnel. We saw a wide range of beautiful fish, including urchins, anemones, crabs, seahorses, rays, starfish, jellyfish, and even a shark!
Overall, we had an amazing day at Chessington World of Adventures, we spent the whole day at the resort and couldn’t do it all, showing there is so much to do. Included in the ticket, you can explore Chessington Theme Park, Chessington Zoo, SEA LIFE centre, daily shows and activities. Perfect activity to enjoy this Easter holidays!
