Easter Fun Around London for all the Family

When looking for child friendly events for the Bank holiday weekend, you are spoilt for choice but below are a few handpicked ones that will inspire, amuse and be enjoyed by everyone.

Let’s visit the Museum of Childhood (19-21 April)

The chocolate eggs are enough to keep the little ones entertained  and there are also spectacular prizes to win by solving clues when going on the hunt for the hidden eggs and other chocolate delights. Take part in making your own craft creations including egg decorating. Plus there will be some exciting Easter stories to add even more enchantment to the day.

Museum of Childhood

We’re off to Ham House (18-21 April)

During the winter months, we sometimes forget the feeling of warmth on our cheeks, and when Easter comes around we want to relish the little sun we have! Spending time outdoors is our main priority and this mesmerising garden is the perfect treat. This historic setting offers an insight into a bygone era with its majestic structure and exquisite garden with an exciting Easter trail for the young ‘uns. There will also be face painting as well as arts and crafts plus storytelling in the stunning surroundings.

More fun on Family Fun Day at Kempton Park (19th April)

If you’re looking for something to really excite the family, then why not head to Kempton? For the family fun day, starring Katsuma and Poppet (meet them in person too) kids go for free and there are more than enough activities to go around. From face painting to balloon creation, soft play to craft workshops. You can even do a spot of swapping!

Duck Farm

London Wetland Centre (5-21 April)

There are some brilliant events surrounding the farmyard ducks with traditional Easter activities so that your family can be at one with nature. The staff are ready and waiting to answer all questions regarding animal life and their behaviour. Watch them close-up, see their nesting and spawning habits and gain some valuable insights too.

Off we go to Sutton House (10-17 April)

There are the delightful trails to follow for the Easter egg hunt where you can ramble to your heart’s content. Great Britain has some of the most wonderful scenery in the world and that isn’t mentioning their many stately homes too. This particular home is 500 years old with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore filling yours (and the little ones) imagination with wonder.

Toddler Activities

What about exploring the Red House (18-21 April)?

If you’re a keen gardener, you can introduce your young ones to the world of William Morris at the Red House: there is a special Easter egg hunt for everyone and you can explore the grounds, partake in activities and delight in even more chocolate! Why not treat yourself…

We can watch the Udderbelly Festival at the Southbank Centre (11 April – 25 Sept)

The kids will adore The Shlomo Beatboxing Adventure for Kids which is an interactive show between the comic and the audience. Then there’s Knightmare Live, bringing the TV show to the stage and much more!

Hope these tasters of what’s to come will inspire you this Easter holiday period!
