Girlfriends Know Each Other’s Favourite Flower Event
I love having flowers and plants around the house and also giving flowers to friends and family. I was excited to attend a flower event hosted by Funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk as part of its Spring Favourite Flower campaign ‘Girlfriends know each other’s Favourite Flower’.
I took my sister-in-law with me, we both love flowers and I was intrigued to find out if we knew each other’s favourite flower. The exclusive one-day event was a great opportunity for us to discover the top 15 flowers that will be trending this spring as well as taking part in flower related activities.
Once we arrived at the beautifully decorated pop-up flower shop, we were greeted by flower boys and updated our looks with bespoke floral looks from salon stylists. We loved our pretty floral look, we went for curls with as many flowers as our hair could hold.
Our next stop at the flower shop was decorating cupcakes with floral designs. It was very enjoyable learning how to make a sugar paste rose to add a floral touch to our lavender flavoured icing. Not only was the floral cupcake gorgeous, it was also very tasty.
Roses are known as the Queen of Flowers for its worldwide popularity and suitability to any oocasion. Each colour of rose has a different meaning and pink roses mean happiness, purity and thankfulness.
At the friendship-based event ‘Girlfriends know each other’s Favourite Flower’, it was interesting speaking to a relationship expert about flowers and their role in friendships.
Our flower themed afternoon ended by learning how to arrange flowers with a local florist. Whenever I buy flowers for home, I simply cut the ends of it, so learning to make a hand-tie bouquet was a new experience for both of us.
It was therapeutic choosing our favourite flowers and learning how to put them together in a gorgeous hand-tie bouquet.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable afternoon, I already liked flowers when I entered the pop-up shop, but I left the building loving them even more. It was interesting learning new ways of adding a floral touch to baking and hair styles. My friend and I left with our beautiful hand-tie bouquet, with our chosen flowers to remind us of our lovely afternoon together.
To make the most of your flowers, you can follow simple tips to look after them at home, such as ensuring you have a clean vase and clean water, removing the leaves so that they don’t hang in the water and adding flower food. You should refresh the water every five days and refill regularly, and you avoid placing flowers in full sun or a draught.
I was under no obligation to write this post, just wanted to share my experience. The opinions expressed in this post are honest and my own. This blog post can be found at http://www.ukmums.tv/hot-topics/friends-favourite-flower
