Pasta with Mushroom, Tomato and Basil Recipe
Pasta is great for those evenings when you need a quick and tasty family meal. In the March Degustbox, there was a packet of Organico Fusili Italian Durum Wheat Pasta and Tomato and Basil Sauce.
Organico Fusili Italian Durum Wheat Pasta is 100% La Marche durum wheat, slow dried and shaped with bronze plates. The pasta was enjoyed with Organico Tomato and Basil Sauce, picked and packed in 24 hours at a cooperative in Tuscany to maximise the freshness of the product.
We enjoyed Organico Pasta and Tomato and Basil Sauce with mushroom, onions, sprinkled with grated mozzarella cheese and parsley. Such a flavoursome family meal!
Pasta with Mushroom, Tomato and Basil Sauce
Ingredients:
- 500g dried pasta (we used Organico Fusili Italian Durum Wheat Pasta)
- 2 onions, diced
- 250g mushroom, halved
- Tomato sauce (we used Organic Tomato and Basil sauce)
- Mozzarella Cheese, grated
- Parsley, finely chopped
- Olive oil
Method:
Cook the pasta according to the instructions in the packet. Drain the pasta once cooked.
Heat up one spoon of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add the onions, fry over gently heat for 2-3 minutes, until softened. Add the mushrooms and sauté for another 2 minutes.
Add the tomato and basil sauce, simmer the sauce until the mushrooms are cooked. Remove from heat and add the parsley.
Serve the pasta with a generous amount of sauce and mozzarella cheese.
