Get Fit for the Summer with Fitbug Orb
Last year I reviewed Fitbug Air Wireless Activity Tracker and found it great to track my activities, so I was delighted to review Fitbug Orb. The Fitbug Orb is a button-sized activity tracker that acts as a personal health coach to encourage and motivate you to increase activity levels and make healthier lifestyle choices.
The Fitbug Orbtracks your sleep pattern, steps, calories burned, distance covered and wirelessly syncs this information to the Fitbug app and your online Fitbug.com account. As I already had an online account and the app on my phone, it took me no time to link the Fitbug Orb to my account.
The Fitbug Orb (RRP £49.95) and is available in three colours, white, black and pink, and it has multiple wear options. You can wear it as a wristband, belt hook and lanyard. Sometimes I wear it with the wristband as a fashion accessory, but other times I prefer to wear it as a belt hook and hide beneath my clothing.
Furthermore, the Fitbug Orb comes with free access to KiK – your very own digital coach offering bespoke nutrition and activity plans as well as on-going advice and guidance in the form of text messages and emails to help nudge you to reach your goals.
In addition, KiK also offers a host of healthy recipes, exercise plans, nutrition tips, as well as online games and an online Fitbug community to help keep members motivated. Furthermore, the online members’ area allows users to log their food and additional exercise, which counts towards their daily activity. When you log your food into your online account it tells you how many calories you have consumed.
I love using Fitbug Orb to keep track of my activities and check how much I’ve walked during the day. At the moment, I am not going to the gym or attending any exercise lessons. My only form of exercise is walking, I try and walk as much as a can, so walking around 10,000 steps a day is not too bad.
My current daily target on Fitbug Orb is 12,700 steps in total and 5,300 aerobic steps, which is around 10k daily. I am not achieving my daily target every day, and although I have the option of lowering the target, I will try to incorporate more walking into my daily activities.
Overall, I am very impressed with Fitbug Orb, it is another Fitbug product that has been tried, tested and loved. I must confess I miss having a screen to check my steps without having to sync Fitbug Orb with the app, it doesn’t take long, but it would be nice to have the information straight away. I love using the app, it is easy to use and full of great information. I also how small Fitbug Orb is, it easily fits in the palm of my hand.
