Family Meal at Kitchin N1 Restaurant
Over the weekend, we visited Kitchin N1 for a family meal. We all love buffet style restaurant, as there is usually something for everyone, so we were looking forward to our visit.
Kitchin N1 is a London restaurant based in Kings Cross, centred round a theatre-island kitchen, so you can watch the chefs preparing the fresh meals while you eat.
It has several different stations, where you will find delicious dishes from cuisines all over the world, such as Chinese, Thailand, Italian and Indian.
Kitchin N1 is open for lunch and dinner, and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, you will find a selection of seafood dishes, including prawns and mussels.
We visited the restaurant on a Sunday, so there was also Sunday roast on offer with roast beef, vegetables, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.
We were impressed when we arrived at the restaurant and had a look around to decide where we should start.
My first stop was the Chinese Wok Station, you simply choose from a selection of fresh vegetables to be stir fried with either meat or vegetables. I had prawns with mushrooms, bean sprouts and onions, and it was very tasty.
Hubby tried the hot starters station with onion rings, garlic bread, chicken, vegetable samosa, seekh kebab, prawn toast, French fries. He mentioned the dishes were as lovely as expected.
I wanted to try the salad station with potato salad, mixed salad, Greek salad, sushi and other cold starters.
You can also pick your own dressing from Italian dressing, mango chutney, mint sauce and sweet chilli sauce. The salads were tasty, and I was happy with the selection too.
Hubby also tried the Indian station with pilau rice, chicken korma, chicken jalfrezi, rogan josh, tadka dal, popodoms and mango chutney. His favourite dish was chicken korma with the tasty mango chutney.
While he was having his curry, I was making the most of the Thai and Chinese dishes, I tried beef in black pepper sauce, seafood in sweet chilli sauce, and chicken with cashew nuts. I really liked the seafood dish with squid, prawns and mussels, yum!
We also had a quick stop at the Grill Station, you can choose from peri peri chicken and mini beef steak, both made to order by one of the chefs. Grilled food is one of my favourite, and I wasn’t disappointed with the delicious chicken and beef.
While hubby and I were trying a little bit of each station, little man was enjoying some egg noodles with prawn crackers, and a slice of pizza of the day.
He was delighted when he finished his food and visited the dessert station, where you will find a chocolate fountain with marshmallows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The ice cream machine and chocolate fountain would have been enough for little man, but there was also a selection of cakes and fruit on offer. Hubby had gulab jamon with rice pudding and crème caramel, while I had carrot cake with fruit sald and crème caramel. We all love our desserts, they were a lovely ending to a delicious meal.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Kitchin N1, the dishes were full of flavour and freshly cooked, our expectations were met and we will definitely go back. It is also great value you can enjoy a delicious lunch from £7.99 per person and dinner from £14.99 per person.
We were invited to visit Kitchin N1 free of charge, however the opinions expressed in this review are honest and our own.
