Father’s Day Gift Guide 2014
Father’s Day is fast approaching, but if you haven’t got anything organised for your dad yet, there is no need to worry! Hubby has been busy trying and testing a few products, to inspire you this Father’s Day on Sunday 15th June.
There is something for every dad, whether you are dad is athletic, into DIY or enjoys a relaxing drink. In no particular order, those are the lovely products that hubby recommends this Father’s Day. Each one of them has been tried, tested and loved by little man’s dad, so I’m sure your dad will love them too!
Patchwork Pate has a wonderful Quiet Night In hamper (RRP £16.15) containing every dad’s favourite: beer or cider, jar of pate, spelt oat fingers and chutney. Hubby likes spicy food, so he picked a very tasty Mediterranean Recipe Chicken Liver Pâté with Spiced Chilli, delicious Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Chutney with Unicorn Ale and a sprinkle of Cumin.
He particularly enjoyed having the pate and chutney with the tasty Patchworks Spelt Oat Fingers with Sweet Chilli. His treats were complemented by Robinson’s Old Tom Ale, a superior dark, rich and warming strong ale with a cherry brandy like colour and character.
Beer Hawk’s Great British Beer Gift (RRP £37.50) is perfect for dads that enjoy fine drinks produced by the Great British brewer. The handpicked selection includes Black Sheep Imperial Russian Stout, Brewdog Punk IPA, Celt Bronze, Conwy Mulberry Dark, Harviestoun Broken Dial, Harviestoun Old Engine Oil, Ilkley Lotus IPA, Ilkley Pale, Old Growler Umbel Ale, Saltaire Blonde, Siren Undercurrent, St Austell Proper Job, Thornbridge Chiron, Ticketybrew Dubbel, Williams Bros. Hubby was very impressed with the great selection of beers, he was able to try beers that he’s never heard of before. He was pleased with the 15 British beers in the gift pack and really enjoyed trying new flavours.
The Venturer Series Vinho Verde (RRP £4.99) is perfect for dads that enjoy white wine. Hubby found it easy drinking, crisp and fresh, ideal to enjoy in a sunny day. This white wine from Portugal benefits from cool ocean influences and an early picking of the Loureiro and Paderna grapes to give light flavours of citrus and green apple.
If your dad prefers something stronger, he will love Glen Orrin 5 Year Old Scotch Whisky (RRP £13.29), a blend of the finest malt whiskies. It is fragrant and fruity, aged in oak casks for a minimum of five years, boasting an array of floral aromas. Hubby enjoyed the rich and fruity flavours of Glen Orrin.
Sugru mini pack (RRP £12.99) is great for DIY dads that enjoy fixing, modifying and making things at home. Hubby has been trying the multipack with 8 foil-wrapped pieces of sugru, in red, blue, yellow, black and white. Sugru is a new type of self-setting rubber that moulds like play dough, sticks to almost anything and turns into a strong flexible rubber overnight.
Hubby enjoyed fixing cables around the house, especially phone charger that keep bending and breaking. With the mini pack, your dad will be ready for 8 fixing sessions around the house, car, factory floor or just about anywhere. Sugru is easy to use, practical and great fun!
Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 has two great razors to keep your dad’s skin looking great and feeling smooth. Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 (RRP £8.99) has 5 UltraGlide blades with skin guards to smooth the skin’s surface, helping to reduce skin irritation. The water activated gel hydrates the skin and the flip trimmer is great for hard to reach areas.
Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Power Select (RRP £12.99) is the only powered razor with 3 vibration settings giving your dad the ultimate shave comfort. It also has 5 UltraGlide blades with skin guards, flip trimmer, hydrating gel reservoir and flat trimmer. Hubby was impressed with both Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5, especially how he could adjust the vibration levels and shave power in Power Select to suit his skin for less irritation.
Dove Men+Care Daily Care Duo (RRP £6.50) is a gift pack ideal for active and playful dads, developed for men that want to feel comfortable in their skin. It contains a body and face wash and an anti-perspirant deodorant, for skin that feels good with a pleasantly fresh scent. Hubby liked using Clean Comfort Body and Face Wash, made with an innovative Micromoisture technology that helps to protect the skin from dryness. He also liked keeping fresh with Clean Comfort Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, combining 48 hour protection against odour with a quarter moisturiser technology.
Radox Muscle Therapy (RRP £2.31) is a bath soak made with a stimulating blend of ginseng and black pepper, designed to gently warm muscles and easy away aches and pains. It is great for aching muscles and tired body, hubby particularly enjoyed using after playing football. Whether your dad gets busy in the garden or at football, he would love to lie back in the bath and relax with Radox Muscle Therapy.
Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker (RRP £46.50) is great to keep track of athletic dad’s activities. This fitness-tracking dongle features tap controls which switch between one of five modes including steps taken, distance, calories burned and more. It is rain, splash and sweat-proof, so can be used safely outdoors whatever the weather.
It is available in charcoal, green, pink and blue, hubby has been using his small and discreet Fitbit Zip with the silicone clip to keep track of his activities. Hubby really likes tracking his fitness in style and syncing to his phone. He is very impressed with how easy it is to use by using food diary and activities to reach his fitness and diet goals.
Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 Wireless Earbuds and Charging Case (RRP £64.92) is ideal for dads that love listening to music on the go.
