In the Night Garden Live 2014: Ninky Nonk Show
Little man is a big fan of In the Night Garden Live, in 2012 we went to the Pinky Ponk Show, and in 2013 we went to the Ninky Nonk Show. This year we had the pleasure of watching again the Ninky Nonk Show at the O2 in London.
In the Night Garden Live is a sensational stage production especially created in a purpose-built showdome. It is child-friendly with plenty of loos and baby-changing facilities, it has a family-friendly foyer with buggy parking, microwave, table, chairs and colouring activities.
Once we arrived at the showdome, we were greeted by the family staff and given our souvenir activity brochure worth £7, included in the price of the ticket. In the Night Garden Live is a great musical theatre experience for the whole family, from babies to young children. You must have noticed we really enjoyed our first visit, as we came back again and again.
There are two different shows to choose from and each one lasts just under an hour. In the Ninky Nonk show, Igglepiggle loses his blanket and all his friends help him find it. In the Pinky Ponk show, Makka Pakka washes everyone’s faces, until his sponge gets stuck in Upsy Daisy’s megaphone!
In both shows, Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka are all beautifully brought to life before your eyes using full size costumes, magical puppets, enchanting music and breathtaking projections.
The theatre has a family-friendly seating with only 13 rows, so everyone gets a great view, no matter where you are seating. We usually seat at the back and can see the whole action on stage.
Little man loves the fact that the showdome is used as part of the show, the projections on the ceiling make the whole experience even more especial, as little ones become part of the forest, and they are able to enter the magical world of the TV show In the Night Garden. Once again, little man had a great time and loved going to In the Night Garden Live 2014!
In the Night Garden Live tour started on 29 May at the O2 and it will end on 13 September. There are five venues this year, including a Scottish date in Glasgow Aug/Sep added in response to public demand.
The O2 tour has just finishes, the next venue is Old Deer Park in Richmond from 21st June to 5th July, followed by Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham from 12th to 26th July, then The Trafford Centre in Manchester from 2nd to 23rd August, ending at Queen’s Park Recreation Ground in Glasgow from 30 August to 13 September.
