Treat Your Dad to a Tree Top Adventure at Go Ape #LiveLifeAdventurously

Father’s Day is tomorrow, Sunday 15th June, but if you haven’t bought a gift for your dad yet, there is still time to get him a very special and exciting day out in the jungle. I’m sure he will love it!

Following little man’s successful Tree Top Junior Adventure at Go Ape a few weeks ago, where the whole family really enjoyed exploring the canopy, we were curious to find out more about the adult’s course.

We went to our local Go Ape at Trent Park to try one of their Tree Top Adventure. Once we arrived at the beautiful woodlands, we had a safety briefing and our safety equipment fitted by an instructor. Our instructor made us feel comfortable and prepared for our forest adventure.

Hubby particularly liked when the instructor hanged from the training course, showing us that you can’t fall as long as you are attached at all times. Hubby tried the same and nothing happened to him – look at him hanging in the left picture.

There are five courses in total, they get higher as you go along. Each course starts by climbing a wooden ladder, followed by a range of challenges. There is a brand new twin course at Trent Park, so you can explore either the right or left course.

On each tree, you will find a picture of the challenge ahead, showing you what to do, where to hold and how you are meant to cross it. There is a good mixture of easy, moderate and difficult challenges, from wooden bridges and crosses to high ropes.

The wires and clips are colour-coded, so it is easy to move around from one tree to another. You will also find net bridges and wooden tunnels.

There are different types of crosses where you might need to slow down and try to figure out how to move along. It all adds to the fun!

Hubby really enjoyed the Tarzan swing, it was his favourite activity. There were two different Tarzan swings, one smaller to practice, then a bigger one in the following course. Check out a short Instagram video here.

Hubby also really love the zip wires, each course finishes with a zip wire. There was even a cool skateboard zip, similar to skating on air (check out a short Instagram video). The last course had a massive zip wire, very high up, hubby loved the adrenaline whilst going down the zip wire (check out the Instagram video).

The whole experience lasted 2 hours, but it could last up to 3 hours, depending on the size of the group. We were pleased to see drinking water in the course, so you can keep hydrated in a hot day.

It is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your family while appreciating the open forest environment. I can’t wait to my next Tree Top Adventure’.

Tree Top Adventure is suitable for children over 10 years old and adults, in case your children are not old enough, they could go on the Tree Top Junior Adventure, and you could take your children’s dad to an exciting Tree Top Adventure!
