What Are My Daily Parenting Magic Tricks? #MumsMagicTricks
We all know it is not easy being a parent and there are not enough hours in the day to do it all. We need to complete one hundred and one things, and at the end, we figure out that we forgot to do a couple of things.
Every mum has a few tricks up their sleeve to help us with our daily multitasking magic, juggling so many things at the same time. Natwest has sent me an inspiration pack about Mum’s Magic Trick, those are my favourite tricks:
Mess-Free Painting:
Little man loves painting and getting involved in craft activities, however he is a typical boy and makes a lot of mess. In the inspiration pack, we found a shower curtain and lidded plastic cup to reduce the mess during painting.
I bet you are wondering what we are doing with them? Shower curtains can be placed underneath the activities table to catch drips and spills, while lidded plastic cups can be used to keep paints, the straw hole is just the right size to allow for a paint brush to be dipped into the paint.
Shoes on Right Feet:
Little man often puts on the wrong shoe, and a few times we didn’t realise until he came home from school. He dresses himself in the morning, and I check his uniform and shoes while brushing his teeth, but we are always rushing and sometimes I don’t notice his shoes (sorry son!).
Luckily there was a great suggestion in the inspiration pack, and little man will never have shoes on the wrong foot again. I’ve put stickers on his shoes, but cutting them in half and placing on the inner soles of the shoes. When little man puts them together, a special message appears by magic, very handy on all type of shoes, especially school shoes and football boots.
Sleeping Trick:
I use a great sleeping trick with little man, it works very well with him. He wants to grow up quickly and get older, so I explained to him that he grows every time he sleeps, and the more the sleeps, the more he grows.
He noticed he was growing when he suddenly was able to reach the light switches around the house, and now he loves sleeping and goes to bed in a flash, just like magic!
Banking Tricks:
I have been a Natwest customer for over 10 years and done our banking online for several years. Online banking is so convenient, it can be done any time of the day or night, I usually make our payments and transfers once little man has gone to bed.
Recently, I have also started using Natwest Mobile Banking to check account balances on the go and keep track of our family finances with the Natwest app, and I love it! It is quick and easy to pay friends and family, transfer money between accounts and pay bills – all done with the app available for Natwest personal current account customers with debit card, Online Banking and a UK mobile number on a smartphone. It is also very handy to find out the location of Natwest branches and cash machines near you, and top up your mobile.
Magic Money:
My last trick cannot be done without the clever Get Cash option in the handy Natwest app. I can get cash out without my card by simply using the Mobile Banking to withdraw money at a cash machine, just like magic.
The Get Cash code is valid for 3 hours and can be used twice a day, up to the maximum daily withdrawal limit of £250. The magic money, as I call it, is perfect for parents like me that don’t usually carry cash, but tend to forget their pin numbers. You just need to select emergency cash at a cashpoint, enter the cash code and magically pick up some money without using your card.
I love the look of my local Natwest cash machine (picture above), isn’t it so funky?!
This project is in conjunction with BritMums for their #MumsMagicTricks” challenge with NatWest.
