Driving Safely to a Family Day Out with Garmin nuvi 50LM Sat Nav
As you might have noticed, we loved family days out, and we usually drive to wherever we need to go – unless the location is in central London.
We have driven to several places in the UK, our latest day out was in Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We have even driven to France to visit our family in Lyon, the journey was long, but very enjoyable.
As we spend so much time behind the wheel, it is essential to look after our family by driving safely. We were delighted to receive a Garmin nuvi 50LM Sat Nav (RRP £139.99), with UK, Ireland and Western Europe maps from Tesco Compare. The box contained the sat nav, vehicle power cable, vehicle suction cup mount and quick start manual.
It is a widescreen 5” touchscreen satellite navigation, preloaded with detailed maps of the United Kingdom and 24 European countries, including France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain. We have only used it in the UK so far, but we are looking forward to taking it with us to our next trip to France.
I love the fact it has free lifetime map updates, reflecting the most updated maps, points of interest and navigation information, essential when driving safely with our family. Our previous sat nav didn’t offer up-to-date maps and we often ended up in roads where the direction of the traffic changed, the roads were closed off, etc.
Sometimes it can be difficult driving with children, especially when they are tired and hungry. It is harder to drive safely when someone at the back is trying to talk to you, and I must confess I’ve missed a few junctions and exits in the past. It won’t be the case anymore as Garmin nuvi has two great features: Lane Assist which guides into the correct lane when getting closer to turns and exists, and Junction View, which displays on-screen image of upcoming junctions.
We are very happy with our new sat nav, it is easy to use and ideal to help us drive safely with our family. We now just need to check our car as the MOT is due soon, then renew our car insurance, and we will be ready for more family car trips.
The product was provided free of charge for review purposes, however the opinions expressed in this post are honest and my own.
