Four Things to Do on Your Family Holiday to Dubai

Dubai is one of the world’s favorite holiday destinations. Each year, nearly 9 million tourists descend upon the ‘City of Gold’ to experience its extravagance. From great food to great shopping, there’s something for every family in Dubai.

The four things you must do in Dubai are:

Chow on some local fare

As a global business and holiday destination, there is no shortage of different foods to eat in Dubai. You’ll find everything from Lebanese kebabs to Indian curries, thanks in no small part to the city’s large immigrant population. The Chinese restaurants in Dubai are among the world’s best eateries, serving authentic Sichuan and Manchurian cuisine. Best of all, there are options to fit every budget, from cheap push carts and corner kiosks to five-star restaurants overlooking the Arabian Gulf.

Go mall-hopping

Dubai does everything big, and its malls are no different. From the indoor skiing slope with real snow (you read that right!) in the Mall of Emirates, to the gondola-faring waterways in Souk Madinat, the malls in Dubai are less about the shopping, and more about the luxurious experience. Make sure to stop at the Mall of Arabia and the Khan Murjan, which has some breathtaking Islamic architecture.

Visit the Burj Khalifa

At nearly 2,800 feet, Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world – roughly three Eiffel Towers piled on top of each other. The views from the top, as you can imagine, are absolutely incredible. Take the superfast elevator to the observation deck on the 163rd floor for an experience the entire family can enjoy (and boast about on Facebook!).

Visit Atlantis

No, Dubai hasn’t found the ruins to the fabled lost Grecian city. Dubai’s Atlantis is a five-star hotel resort right in the heart of the famous Palm Jumeirah. Besides great food, the best thing about Atlantis is its huge waterpark, called “Aquaventure”. Here, you can swim with dolphins, relax on a man-made beach, and hop on to the park’s popular water rides. Children especially love feeding dolphins and the beautiful aquariums inside the hotel.

Besides these, you can also try out some adventure sports, relax on a boat in the Dubai creek, or head out into the desert for the weekend!
