Summer BBQ Essential Cleaning Tips

I love summer and I must confess I am getting used to delicious BBQs in this beautiful sunny weather!

Hubby is usually responsible for getting the BBQ ready, while I make some salads. I am lucky he is a professional chef, so we enjoy lovely food at home. On the other hand, chefs are used to having someone cleaning up after them, so they tend to make a mess.

We have been trying a selection of cleaning products lately, perfect for BBQ cleaning, including bizzybee glittery scourer, scouring gloves, heavy duty gloves, sponge cloths, bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar.

I don’t mind cleaning, but I can’t be without wearing gloves. I really liked the heavy duty gloves and I never knew scouring gloves existed, such a great invention to have a non-scratch scouring palm to clean all the corners of dishes and pans. The scourer and sponge clothes are very useful too!

The BBQ cleaning kit was sent along with some great tips from bizzybee, I really liked the easy and effective tips, so I thought I should share them with you:

Essential Tips for Tackling BBQ Cleaning:

• To avoid food from sticking to your BBQ, spray the grill with vegetable or olive oil before using.
• Cleaning your BBQ grill while it is still slightly warm will make the job easier. Make sure you wear your heavy duty or scouring gloves.
• If you have a hotplate on your BBQ you can use the scouring pad or gloves to clean, wipe off remaining debris with a paper towel.
• Baking soda on a damp sponge removes grease easily from grill racks.
• If you need to clean the bottom of the BBQ, spray the base of the oven with water, sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda and leave to work. Scrape away the dirt and rinse with warm water. Don’t forget to put on gloves to protect your hands!

Once the BBQ is finished, it’s time to tackle the dirty dishes using Ecover Limited Edition Washing-up Liquid. It has a pleasant sea lavender and eucalyptus fragrance, and it is packaged in a bottle made from waste plastic, fished from the ocean in an exclusive partnership with Tesco.

Not only it is an effective washing-up liquid, the Ecover Ocean Plastic Project helps to clean up oceans from pieces of waste plastic.
