The Bake-off comes to Portman Village in Marylebone!

There are only a few days left for the end of the term and we are looking forward to our first summer holiday activity next week. We love cake and family fun, so we can’t wait to visit Portman Village.

Portman Village in Marylebone is celebrating summer and the nation’s love of baking with the PV Bake-Off and Street Fest. Taking place in Portman Square Gardens from 4pm on Wednesday 23^rd July, the event will see the head chefs at some of Marylebone’s best restaurants competing to be crowned Best Baker.

Reigning champion of the much-loved Great British Bake Off, Frances Quinn, will lead a judging panel to determine the winning entries in categories from Tastiest Cake to Best Biscuit, and the visually impressive Best Decorative Cake. This free event will also invite sweet-toothed visitors to decide whether they agree with the judges’ decisions, with samples of all entries available for tasting.

As well as complimentary cake, visitors can enjoy a host of games and entertainment for all ages, from ‘Pin the Beard on Paul Hollywood’ to Giant Jenga. Children’s entertainers, The Musical Adventurists, will provide the family fun with songs and themed games including Mary Berry musical statues.

As well as joining the Village’s esteemed professions in the Bake-Off, some of the areas most reputable hotels, including the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill Hotel, Lanes of London, The Thistle Marble Arch, Radisson Blu Portman Hotel and Home House, will also be serving food and drink throughout. Plus, there will be fundraising activity in aid of local homeless charity, the West London Day Centre.

The festivities then continue from 6pm around the corner in Portman Village, with live music by reputable London GIGs musicians including Charlotte Campbell and Tyler Rix on New Quebec Street and Seymour Place. An array of exclusive discounts, freebies and prizes will also be available in the Village’s popular restaurants, shops and cafés.
