Family Trip to Legoland #NewThings

We love family days out, and had so much fun together during the school holidays. I can’t believe it is nearly the end, but we are glad we made the most of the last few days by visiting Legoland – a place little man has always wanted to visit.

He had such an amazing academic year, so we wanted to treat him to a special day out in appreciation of his efforts at school!

This month, we are taking part in a #NewThings challenge by CSMA, a members-only discount club, and were invited to become a New Things Ambassador. The challenge aims to encourage bloggers and their families to try and experience new things together. We love spending time together, no matter what we are up to, so we are looking forward to the challenge.

Our first task was to visit a new place, and we picked Legoland as it was top of the list of places to visit. Little man loves playing with Lego, so he couldn’t wait to arrive at the child-oriented theme park around the Lego toy system.

Little man enjoyed taking a photo with the Lego family, located near the entrance of the park. He couldn’t believe that everything was made of Lego, and even asked if we could try and build people out of lego at home.

We enjoyed our wet and bumpy ride on Viking’s River Splash at the Land of the Vikings. I didn’t take my waterproof jacket, so I got very wet, but loved every minute of it!

The whole family enjoyed the Pirates Of Skeleton Bay Stunt Show in Lego City. The pirate-themed action show was full of adventures and special effects.

We also enjoyed riding the Squid Surfer at Adventure Land. Little man loved driving the jet-ski pods, and the best part was not knowing when the spectators would trigger the water bombs, so we could get wet at any time!

Another great attraction was Atlantis Submarine Voyage, where we enjoyed an adventure at the bottom of the sea, spotting fish, sharks and Lego models. It was very exciting watching the fish swim by our submarine.

Miniland at Legoland

One of my favourite was Miniland, featuring model scenes from European cities and the USA, such as Paris, Venice, Italy, Belgium, and London.

The cities are all beautifully made with Lego bricks, complete with sounds, trains, boats and traffic. The aerial view was taken while riding the Sky Riders, with great views of Miniland.

There are several main London buildings, such as St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye, Big Ben, London Bridge and even Wembley stadium – which was hubby’s favourite model.

We had a fantastic family day at Legoland, it was wonderful spending time together, visiting a new place, and building unforgettable memories. The smile on little man’s face was priceless!

I agree with the UK psychologist Dr. David Holmes, who came up with a scientific formula to booking the perfect holiday which stated that the best holiday memories are created when you try something new. Whether it’s introducing your family to a new recipe, visiting an attraction you’ve never seen before or just playing a new game, a unique activity leaves a stronger impression in your memory and helps you and your family remember the fun times you had together.

Where have you been lately? Have you visited any new places? I would love to find out about your #NewThings and what you have been up to!
