Ping Pong Cocktail Masterclass and New Summer Specials

Ping Pong is one of my favourite restaurants, it is where I celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago, and we all had a great time with delicious dim sum and refreshing cocktails.

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a cocktail masterclass at Ping Pong Stratford to learn to create the perfect mojito under the guidance of Daniele Ziaco, one of Ping Pong’s expert mixologists.

I really enjoyed making a classic mojito with Bacardi superior rum, fresh limes, mint leaves and lots of ice. Apparently my cocktail wasn’t too bad, as it was scored 8 out of 10 by Danielle – so who am I to disagree with him?!

The classic mojito is the base for the three summer cocktails, so it is very important to get it right. Once I’ve mastered the technique, I learnt to create a fruity Blackberry and Chambord Mojito, one of new fruity cocktails you can expect to find at Ping Pong this summer.

Blackberry and Chambord Mojito was made by adding fresh blackberries and Chambord liqueur, to Bacardi superior rum, fresh limes and mint leaves from the classic mojito.

You can also enjoy a refreshing Hibiscus Mojito cocktail, with a homemade hibiscus syrup, and Longan and Sake Mojito, with lychee infused sake and Longan’s.

I really enjoyed creating cocktails and also trying Ping Pong’s mouth-watering new summer specials, including Citrus Squid, Carrot Salad, a beautifully seasoned summer salad with lime and chilli dressing.

If you like squid, you will love Crispy Squid, in a light crispy coating with hints of lemongrass and chilli Sichuan dusting.

One of my favourites was Chingkiang Seafood Skewers, featuring squid and prawns served with black fungus and soya beans, seasoned with chilli bean sauce. It is delicious and full of flavour!

To finish off our great evening, we tried the new mango mocha, a soft rice pastry ball filled with an ice cream centre. It is also available in yuzi flavour.

Thank you Ping Pong for such a lovely evening, I really enjoyed learning to make mojitos and loved trying the new Summer Specials!

The new summer specials is available in all eight Ping Pong locations until October – I am hoping to go back to try it again soon. If you looking for a restaurant to take your family during the bank holiday weekend, you can enjoy all you can eat dim sums with Lazy Sunday, available on Sundays and bank holidays.
