Easy Raspberry and Vanilla Jam Recipe #PersilDualAction #NewThings
I’ve always wanted to make jam at home, but thought it could be complicated, or I wouldn’t know how to get the right consistency.
I was pleased when Persil sent me a jam making kit and suggested a few jam dual recipes for an even better result, such as Strawberry & Black Pepper, Blackberry & Vanilla, Raspberry & Basil, and Orange & Cinnamon.
I love the sound of all combinations, but little man said he wanted to make raspberry jam first, so he picked the first ingredient and I chose freshly ground vanilla for our first ever homemade jam experience.
As you know, we are New Things Ambassadors, and we have been challenged to try and experience new things together as a family, no matter how big or small. The best memories are created when you try something new, such as visiting somewhere new, playing a new game, trying a new meal.
This month, we visited Legoland for the first time, over the weekend we played a homemade maths memory game, and our latest adventure was making jam. If you are looking for new things, CSMA has some lovely suggestions on cheap things to do with kids.
- 400g raspberry
- 300g granulated sugar
- Ground vanilla to taste or vanilla extract
- Place the raspberry, sugar and vanilla in the pan. Stir gently over low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
- Once the sugar has dissolved, turn up the heat and boil until the temperature reaches 106C
- Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes.
- Ladle the ham into the jar, seal and cool before storing in a col dry place
Surprisingly we didn’t make a mess while making jam, so we put a spoon of jam in the apron provided, together with a mashed raspberry. Would Persil Dual Action get rid of both stains? We put the apron in a quick 30-minute wash together with other clothes, and were delighted with the results. The clothes were cleaned and stains from the apron were removed!
We loved making jam for the first time and can’t wait to try other flavour combinations. Have you tried any new food lately? I would love to hear about your #NewThings experiences!
