Lilinha Angel’s World Food & Drink – August 2014
August has come and gone in a flash. We thoroughly enjoyed the school holidays, spending time together on family days out and enjoying some lovely food and drinks.
As usual, we put it all together in our monthly Lilinha Angel’s World Food & Drinks feature.

The limited edition speakers attach to the top of the can, and flash with different coloured LED lights while playing music through phones and music devices. In order to claim your party speakers, you need to enter the code from the bottom of two promotional Pringles cans and pay postage and packaging fee of £3, https://uk.partyspeakers.pringles.com/ .
Giant Ice Cream Style Cupcake (RRP £6.00) is a delicious madeira cupcake filled with plum and raspberry jam, beautifully decorated with vanilla flavour frosting, chocolate flakes and sugar strands. It is part of Asda’s range of cakes, cupcakes, baking accessories and kits. It contains no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated flat.
Not only it looks gorgeous, it tastes even better. The sponge is light, while the frosting is generous and delicious. We enjoyed our giant ice cream style cupcake with a cup of tea, together with our guests. The cake is quite big, and it serves up to 10 people.
Oatly Oat Drink (RRP £1.39) is an oat-based milk alternative, packed full of fibre and nutritional goodness. It is available from Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco and Holland & Barrett, and it can be found in original, organic and chocolate variants.
I am lactose intolerant but never tried oat milk before. I couldn’t find chocolate flavour when I went food shopping, so I purchased the original instead. I used original Oatly oat drink to make porridge and it tasted fine, however I can’t have it on my milk as it looks curdled. I would be interested in try chocolate flavour on porridge!
PG Tips Premium Range (RRP £2.49) is available in a range of flavours of pyramid tea bags to suit every taste. You will find The Rich One, a complex and aromatic taste for a flavoursome mix of African, Ceylon and Assam teas, The Fresh One, a crisp and smooth blend of 100% Kenyan tea for a refreshing and easy to drink tea, The Mellow One, a smooth and delicate taste of African black tea and decaffeinated tea which captures the tea, taste and aroma.
I love a strong cup of tea and my favourite from PG Tips Premium Range is The Strong One, a bold full flavoured taste for a bit of a kick, made with the combination of Kenyan and other African teas. Loose Leaf Tea by Adagio (from RRP £1.50 per sample, makes 10 cups of tea) can be found in a range of varieties, such as black, pu erh, flavoured, chai, oolong, white, green, herbal, rooibos, decaf and masters. I was sent a selection of black tea, herbal tea and green tea including pu erh hazelberry, combining the flavours of strawberries and hazelnutl, yunnan jig black tea from China, sencha overture green tea from Shizuoka prefecture of Japan.
I usually drink black tea, but my favourite flavours are peach oolong with natural peach flavours, apple pieces, marigold flowers and apricot. I also enjoyed the caffeine-free foxtrot, a soothing blend of chamomile flowers, rooibos tea, peppermint leaves and natural vanilla flavour. The loose leaf tea was brewed in the convenient IngenuiTEA teapot.
The products were provided free of charge for review purposes, however the opinions expressed in this post are honest and my own.
