Have you ever got the feeling that you must do something but you can’t remember what exactly? It usually happens when I need to get milk on the way home, and I end up forgetting it completely until after dinner and shower, then I am already on my pyjamas and can’t be bothered to leave home. Luckily Asda offers a very convenient Click & Collect service, which can be used any time of the day or night, from the comfort of your own home.
As a working mum, I must admit that sometimes I find hard to juggle full-time work with family life, grocery shopping, housework, helping little man with homework and everything in between. It is very handy being able to do most things online these days, such as banking, paying bills, ordering grocery and shopping online.
A few days ago, I was relaxing on the sofa after putting little man to bed, when I suddenly remembered that we needed a top-up mid-week shopping to keep us going until the weekend. I then placed an order online on Asda website, and chose the Click & Collect service, in which you can order online (£25 minimum spend) and pick up from your nearest store for free, whenever it suits you.
We have already used Asda Click & Collect several times for appliances, accessories and clothes. It was particularly useful when buying little man’s uniform over the summer and getting him ready for back to school.
A few months ago, I shared about our experience shopping online at Asda Click & Collect for a much needed new set of pans and a duvet set. They are still going strong!
We were looking forward to trying the Click & Collect service for grocery shopping for the first time. You start by selecting your preferred time slot to pick up the shopping from your nearest store, then add items to the basket, from the full online range of own label and branded products, including offers and discounted items.
The items are then selected and packed for you, so you can pick up at your convenience. If you need your items straight away, you can choose the same day service and pick up your order after 4pm, when it is ordered by 1pm.
The ordering process was easy and straightforward, it was easy to find the products and find deals and offers, it even reminds you if you miss multi-buy offers. I bought milk, chocolate milkshake, meat, chicken, vegetables, salad, cheese and squash.
As I wanted to try the drive thru service, I picked Asda Park Royal, which coincidently the first supermarket I went grocery shopping when I moved to London over 10 years ago. I received an email in the morning saying that I could amend the order until 1pm, and a phone call at 7pm to make sure I was still coming to the store for our 6-8pm collection slot.
Once I arrived at the store, I found a bit hard to find the collection point as there were two car parks. Next time I would know where to go, but as a first-time customer, I would have like to see clear signs to let customers know where to go.
When I found the collection point with the Asda van, the driver wasn’t there, so I called the store and enquired about my order. I was then told to go back to the main car par where I was originally, and I was given my shopping.
We used our shopping to make a few delicious family meals, including taco, which is one of our favourites. The whole family enjoyed the meal.
Asda Click & Collect Drive Thu is a very convenient service, perfect for busy mums. It is great that you can shop in the evening when children at in bed, instead of wasting precious time dragging little ones around the shop. However I must say the collection process took much longer than I expected, I would suggest adding clear signs at the entrance of the car park, and having the driver at the collection point during the time slot.
