Weight Watchers Feel Good Food Challenge
Although we follow a healthy diet as a family, with plenty of fruit and vegetables, we also enjoy treats. In our opinion, it is all about having a balanced lifestyle, enjoying treats in moderation.
According to a recent research by Weight Watchers, I am not alone in looking after our lifestyle, as 86% of women in the UK ranked being healthy and eating what they want as their highest priority, ahead of having enough money with 60%, finding the perfect man with 36% and travelling with 17%.
When we visited the Feel Good Cafe Pop-up a few months ago, we were delighted with the wholesome choices, from pizzas to desserts. As you know, we are already fans of Weight Watchers products, they are healthier versions of products that we love.
It is important to eat healthily and I strongly believe we should enjoy every mouthful. Our meals should be flavoursome and tasty, and I found out that the majority of the women in the UK (84% of them) stated that taste was the most important factor when purchasing low calorie and diet foods.
We were sent a lovely Family Fun hamper full of Weight Watchers treats, so we could spend quality time together, enjoying delicious food and treats. Our hamper had delicious breakfast biscuits, lemon cake slices, bakewell slices, double chocolate chop chip cookies, dark chocolate digestive biscuits, wraps, petit pains, rose wine, crisps and cooking sauce.
I asked little man what we wanted for lunch and his first answer was pizza – who doesn’t like some cheesy pizza?! We used the wraps to make a lighter version of Hawaiian pizza by spreading tomato passata sauce, then topping with sliced ham and pineapple, sprinkled with cheese and oregano.
The pizza was then grilled for a few minutes until the cheese melted. It was so delicious, and healthy. We have seen bought more wraps and made the pizza wrap several times. It has become one of our favourite favourites meals, it is easy and quick to make, you can add any toppings you wish, yummy!
For dinner, we used the Spanish chicken cooking sauce to make a tasty meal. The Mediterranean inspired sauce with tomatoes, peppers, smoked paprika, garlic and thyme added a lovely flavour to the chicken. I’ve also added onions and carrots to the chicken, which was enjoyed with couscous and we all loved it!
We love cake and Weight Watchers cake slices are ideal when you want a sweet treat with tea. Lemon cake slice is a fresh, zesty lemon sponge, layered with a tangy icing, and Bakewell cake slice is a classic combination of light almond sponge and fruity cherry jam. The cake slices are delicious and you definitely can’t tell it is diet food.
I really like the fact it is individually wrapped, so you can have just one slice – or maybe too as the slices are on the small side. Even if you have two slices, it has less calories than a standard slice of cake.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Weight Watchers Feel Good Food Challenge. Weight Watchers believes you do not have to give up on the foods you love, offering “A smart choice for every eating occasion ensuring that everyone can ‘say yes’ to the foods that they love.” Throughout the challenge, we have been able to say yes to our family favourites, pizza, cakes, biscuits!
We were sent a hamper to take part in challenge, however the opinions expressed in this post are honest and my own.
